QUESTION: CAN I PUT THESE ON MY BELT BY THE STRAP ON THE SIDE OF THE POUCH, OR IS IT SEWN ALL THE WAY UP/DOWN?
yes, the pouches can hang from a belt by the straps.
Well i didn't get a chance to try it as you ask, but yes can strap on your belt . I would like you to know the case don't have more padding for your lens when you mover around to keep it safe something you have to think about .
yes, you can put them on your belt; just slide belt thru opening. opening size depends on pouch size; small pouch fits 2, bigger about 4 inches belt width
there is a gap on each of these straps. the smallest could only accept about a 1"belt or less. the next size up could accept a 2" belt. and the two largest sizes have plenty of room for a belt. hope that helps!
The strap on the side is sown all the way
There are really no constrictions on any of the pouch belt straps. There are available size limits, the larger two will fit any belt, the smallest will only accept 7/8-1 inch (25mm max), the next size up will accept 1-7/8 to 2 inch (50 mm max) this is also dependent on the thickness of the belt. The clip has just greater than 1 inch or 26 mm opening.
Each one has a Plastic clip on it that can be clipped to anything...So yes, I'm sure, you could add another bigger safety clip or string to the plastic clip to clip to your belt. The strap is sewn in but you can use the clip that is made for attaching on each one. The clips are pretty strong plastic. I was very happy with this product and ordered 2 sets.
I put mine in my camera bag. However, my cases have hooks with catches that would allow me to attach them to my thin camera strap, but not a wide belt. They function just like the clips with safety latches that attach shoulder straps to duffle bags by connecting to thin round metal loops. I don't understand what is meant by being sewn all the way up/down.
The pouches are well made and yes, you can use them on your belt but they are very soft. I really like them.
I would not try it with my lens. It is like a draw string.

QUESTION: HOW WOULD YOU RATE THE PROTECTION LEVEL THAT THESE PROVIDE? I'M GOING ON A TRIP BUT CAN'T TAKE MY NORMAL BAG, SO THE LENS WILL GO IN MY CARRY ON.
I just purchased them for my new Camera I got from my son at Christmas. I haven't been able to get out and take photos yet because of our weather. They seem pretty well padded and hope they fair well in my back pack this summer. I am a beginner so am in the learning stages of everything with cameras and equipment. They seem good enough for what I need. Sorry couldn't be of more help.
Andrew, I think the lens cases are cushioned and durable. I have not used them for heavy duty travel yet, but will be taking them to Italy in June. Since you are taking them in your carry on, they should be fine.
Good protection from abrasion, but not a lot from impact. I would suppose that if conventional lens cases give "100%" protection, these give 85%.
I am very happy with the bags. I think they are the perfect blend of protection vs. size and usability. But rating ONLY protection level - mayby 3 of 5? They are not sturdy, you can get hardshells for your lenses if you prefer. But they are made of neoprene which is waterproof and shockabsorbing. (As well as heat-isolating and oil-withstanding.) (Don´t dip them in water, though, as water will flow in from the top.) I did drop one with a prime lens in it on the floor. Survived without a scratch.
Hi Andrew, sorry I am a little late to answer you. I think they would do just fine in your carry on. The neoprene rubber is of sufficient thickness to provide good protection. I am more that satisfied with the ones I bought. Have a good trip.

QUESTION: WOULD A LARGE FIT WELL WITH A TAMRON 70-300MM?
No, I don't think so. The bag is not that large.
It should as it measures 10 inches in height
I don't think so. It's just right for a 70-200
I have a cannon 70 to 300 and it fits great
Hello, I purchased the set of 3, sm, med & Lg. Not knowing the exact size of the Tamron 70-300, I am going to say that it is not large enough. I have a canon 100-400 and it doesn't come close to fitting.

QUESTION: WILL A CANON 70 - 200 F 2.8 IS II OR A CANON 100 - 400 F 4 -5.6 IS II FIT INSIDE.?
Sorry for the late reply. I have a Nikon 55-300 and it fits well with some breathing space inside .. easy for your hand to reach and grab the lens. As for the Canon 100-400, sorry I'm not sure. Hope this help...cheers..
I have a Canon 75-300 and it fits fine.
Just got the extra large size in the mail. I can confirm that the 70-200 f/2.8 telephoto fits "like a glove." Meaning that there is almost no room to fit anything else in there. That being said, the mount ring foot (whatever its called) will not fit inside. I found that I can pull the opposite side up over the top and synch it. Essentially, the fit isn't perfect, but you can make it work. I plan on posting a photo of what I just described soon. If you want a good fit for the 70-200 and the "mount ring foot" poses a legitimate problem for you, then I would check this ( Foto&Tech DSLR camera Drawstring Soft Neoprene Lens Pouch Bag Cover for Canon Nikon Sony Panasonic Fujifilm Olympus Pentax Sigma DSLR/SLR/EVIL Camera (Extra Large) ) wider pouch. I can't say anything about it from experience, but it does have a picture of the 70-200 next to the pouch. So I think its safe to assume it will fit.

QUESTION: WILL THIS STORE FLAT WHEN EMPTY?
yes
They are made from neoprene and fold up. Not totally flat but great to be stored.
Yes
Yes, it will lay flat when empty.
yes it will fold flat
Love Love Love these!!!! They are amazing protective covers for my lenses. I was a bit leary about ordering them because they were not very expensive, but I was absolutely thrilled when I receied them!!! I would highly recommend these!!

QUESTION: HOW DO THESE COMPARE TO THE GENERIC POUCHES THAT COME WITH THE CAMERA?
Generic pouches are made from cloth -- No padding. These are lined, padding... Not as thick as say, straight neoprene pouches, but a good compromise. I used them 1/2 a month in Japan, and put them in a normal backpack rather than using a camera bag. No issues...
My lense didn't even come with a pouch. In gereal though, I thought the Altura pouches are a bit flimsy, they are DEFINITELY not as sturdy as they look on the pictures (I thought, based on the picture, that they were more rigid, like a hard shell, but they are just made out of soft Neopren).
A little more padding. "Wipe clean" exterior. Locking mechanism on drawstring.
I've never seen a pouch coming in a camera, but I can tell you they're really good if you want extra protection & also you can use them attached to your belt to get it faster if you want. For example, my Canon L lenses comes with a beautiful leather pouches but they give me the same protection as this. I think of pouches as an extra protection to get them safe inside my backpack.
They are thicker and made better, offer more protection..

QUESTION: WILL A TOKINA 16-28 FIT IN ANY OF THESE? ALSO WILL A 70-200 FIT IN THE LONGEST ONE?
I have a Nikon 55-300mm lens that fits in the 3rd largest bag (about 6" long). The 2nd largest bag would fit about a 4" lens; the smallest bag for a 3" lens and the largest bag an 8" lens.
Yes, they will fit without any problem. I have my 55-300 in the longest one with plenty of room to spare. These work great for me.
#(4_Pack)_Review

QUESTION: WILL THE EXTRA LARGE FIT THE NIKON 300MM F/4D LENS? (LENS IS 8.8" LONG, EXTRA LARGE POUCH SAYS 8.66", I'M ASSUMING NO)
The dimensions of the pouch are 10 inches by 3.25 inches. It's not the length as much as the diameter of the pouch. Your lens may be too wide to fit. My 400mm will not fit. I use this pouch to hold my 10"x3.25" water bottle. But for the price of the 4 unit set, it is still worth it.
Hi: the pouch itself if a good solid 9-1/2 inches from the bottom to the top with the drawstring in full open position. This pouch may be a good fit because the material itself is somewhat stretchy. My Minolta 75-300mm zoom is approx. 7-1/4 inches while retracted. There is a generous 2-1/4 inches left in the bag from the top of my lens to the top of the bag with the bag in the open position. I hope this will help you. I like this set of bags very much, especially for the price.

QUESTION: HI GANG, HOW ABOUT A CHUBBY, ULTRA-WIDETOKINA AT-X 116 -11-16MM F/2.8?? TOO FAT TO FIT? THANKS MUCH.
I feel in love with them. I was looking for a case to put my camera lens in I found these. I use 2 for that and the other 2 for other items.
Not positive but I'll bet it will fit. The pouches are wide and roomy with since ties
I would suggest measuring the dimensions of your lens then choose the bag size that fits it.

QUESTION: WILL A TAMRON 70-200MM 2.8 FIT IN THE EXTRA LARGE POUCH?
Yes it will fit and the draw strings allows extra protectionm
I don't have a Tamron 70-200 but I am 99% sure it will fit with adequate room to spare. The extra large pouch is pretty big, so only the biggest of the big lenses wouldn't fit.
As I do not know the dimensions of the particular lens, I would suspect yes as my Olympus 600mm lens fits in the pouch and there is extra room.
Hello, could you find out (by asking, or buying!) if the Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 fits in this case? If it does not fit, have you come across any other good case for this lens? Thank you!
I do not know if your lens will fit in the extra large pouch. I do not have a lens to put in the extra large pouch.

QUESTION: WILL THIS FIT A LENS WITH A LENS HOOD?
Unfortunately, it won't.
yes , a small hood fits the next to largest one for me. Don
I do believe it should, the seem to have a lot of give. I use one for my camera body
The large and extra large pouches hold my 28-135mm and 70-300mm Canon lenses and hoods. The medium is too narrow for the hood of my 15-85mm lens. Never tried to get a hood in the small one.
#(4_Pack)_Review

QUESTION: ARE THESE PADDED?
Yes they are padded with a draw string.
They aren't really padded. They are thick enough that I feel like my lense is protected though.
Each has a sturdy bottom. The material is thick but not actually padded.
They are thick neoprene, but don't have extra padding. The neoprene does act like padding. I had two lenses packed in them in a backpack for two weeks and there wasn't a problem. I wouldn't drop my lenses to try to find out if they make it, but the neoprene seems pretty safe.
Yes they are padded.
They aren't padded - they're just neoprene pouches.
There is no extra padding added, but the neoprene used to make them is thick and spongy so it does protect the lenses very nicely.

QUESTION: WILL A SONY 70-200 FE 4 LENS WITH THE TRIPOD RING ATTACHED FIT IN THE LARGE SIZE?
I only have Canon lens. The largest one can fit a canon 70-200 F4 with tripod ring fine. The pouch would become oval in shape. It is still easier to take the lens with tripod ring out than with reversed hood.
There is lots of room for grow your lens types. I am pleased with my purchase.

QUESTION: DOES THE SOFT INTERIOR SHED? I'M CONCERNED ABOUT LITTLE HAIRS ALL OVER MY LENSES.
Not that I've seen. I haven't had any issues with shedding, or hair on the lenses.
No I haven't had any shedding. They work great. They do smell when you first get them, but it does go away if you air them out. They are a great buy.
No problem with shredding. The lining is more like a tight weave of nylon or something. I've had mine more than 7 months and have not had any dust or fiber accumulation.
Very happy with these lens keepers! Mine have not shed at all! Happy New Year!
No
No, the interior does not shed. These are great, soft lens cases!
no it does not.

QUESTION: WILL THIS FIT A SONY QX1 WITH ATTACHED E PZ 16–50 MM F3.5–5.6 OSS LENSE?
yes, easily
I don't know. I put a Nikon 15-55 mm in it. . They are very nice pouches though
I do not think the small pouch would be able to securely hold it. You would have to have enough room left over for the drawstring to close correctly. Hope this helps.

QUESTION: I'D LIKE TO HEAR MORE ABOUT THE LINT, SOME SAY NONE, OTHERS SAY SOME. I HAVE OLD CANON FD LENSES WHICH AREN'T SEALED AS WELL AS NEWER LENSES
I haven't noticed any lint
1st, Always have a filter on your lenses, UV or something--2, they are good- I couldn't trust them dropping on cement -- but-- this company always has good products so far as I've dealt w/ & great customer service-- minimal lint I believe-
1st Always have a filter on lenses to protect- ie UV etc-- they are good pouches -/ great Co.W/ great customer service--one couldn't trust dropping on cement w/ these, but most pouches are often used in camera cases etc.-- good for price etc.

QUESTION: WILL THESE WORK WITH 35 MM MINOLTA LENSES TELEPHONT AND 35-80
It will be a bit sluggish but it will definitely protect your lens as it's made of superior material. The clip that comes with the pouch is very useful as you can hook the pouch together with the lens to your belt hole.
I use them for Canon so don't know about Minolta.

QUESTION: WILL IT FIT WITH MY CANON LENS HOOD ON IN THE STORED POSITION? GUESS WHAT I MEAN BY THAT IS, IS IT WIDE ENOUGH TO FIT?
No it wont fit the Lens Hood in the attached position. But may fit, if its reversed. But still will be very tight as it is made for exact / almost Lens Size.
Most likely not although I have not tried with the lens hood. However, it did not fit my telephoto lenses with the bayonet (piece you screw onto a tripod) as the bag was not wide enough. They are just wide enough for a lens with no added width.
It fits my Nikon lens with the hoods on.
yes, they are wide enough and bigger than you'd expect, I highly recommend these.

QUESTION: WILL A MEDIUM SIZED POUCH FIT A SONY E 55-210MM LENS?
I am not sure how big the Sony E 55-210 is but my Nikon 70-300 fits comfortably in the second largest pouch !
I'll be able to tell after Christmas when I get my A6000 and 55-210mm. I ordered these pouches in advance and I'm hoping they fit my lenses well
#(4_Pack)_Review

QUESTION: WILL THE BELT LOOPS ACCOMADATE A 1.5 INCH BELT
The smallest one, no but the three larger ones, yes
I would say no. Looks like might accommodate a 1 inch belt.
I currently don't have a 1.5 inch belt to try it but the size of the belt loops varies with the size of the pouch. They range from about 4.75 inches on the largest down to about 1.75 inches on the smallest pouch.
I'm sorry, I mistyped that. The smallest is about .75 inches (not 1.75).
It's a plastic snap and my 1.5" belt does not fit through :( They are nice pouches , I just clip them on my camera bag's plastic clips. Don
No.
#(4_Pack)_Altura_Photo_Thick

QUESTION: HOW BIG IS THE BIGGEST ONE?
3" diameter by 9.5" high
Rather than answer in inches, I'd rather tell you that the largest one will accommodate a 75-300mm lens with room to spare. If that isn't enough info, let me know and I'll measure it.
#(4_Pack)

QUESTION: WILL ANY OF THESE FIT A SIGMA 150-600 C?
Not sure about the Sigma but if it helps, I use it to store a Sony E 55-210 which is 51/2 inches and it fits perfect. I'd say anything longer than that probably wouldn't fit. As far as wideness goes, there's enough room for a wider lens the Sony which is a 49.
Very unlikely. I don't know exactly how big that lens is, but even the extra large is way too small--length and diameter--for the sigma 150-500 mm, and I doubt that your lens is smaller.
I highly doubt it. It fits my Canon 300 but not anything much longer.
#Altura_Photo_Thick

QUESTION: WILL IT FIT A MINOLTA 70-210 ZOOM LENS?
I have Canon, largest lens is 5" long and 9" diameter and it fits in the large pouch. Hope that is helpful!
Yes it is Adjustable, they are padded and have a draw string.
#(4_Pack)_Review

QUESTION: I WANT TO USE THESE FOR SOMETHING OTHER THAN LENSES. WHAT ARE THE INSIDE HEIGHT & DIAMETER AT LEAST FOR THE X-LARGE?
It is approximately 9.5 inches in height. it is approximately 4 inches across. I stuck a 750 ml. wine bottle inside for reference and the neck stuck out about 2.5 inches. I don't have a lens that big, so I am not currently using the bag.
I just stuck a coffee travel mug within the bag which is 3 1/4 inches in, (which had about a 1/4 of and inch of room) diameter by 10 inches deep. Hope that answers you question.
#(4_Pack)_Altura_Photo_Thick

QUESTION: ARE THE DIMENSIONS SHOWN IN THE PHOTO INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL DIMENSIONS?
ask the sell, Walter will respond.
These protective cases are not thick. Inside and outside dimensions would be almost identical.
#(4_Pack)

QUESTION: WOULD THE LARGE SIZED FIT THE CANON 55-250MM LENS NICELY?
I have a Nikon 18-140 lens at it fits great.
Based on the dimensions I found online for your lens (4.3"L) I would say yes. It may have a little extra room but that room will allow it to close all the way. I have a 6.5"L lens in it and it closes but not completely. Hope that helps!
Probably. It is about 10"x4". The next size down is 7"x3". The 7" fits my Nikon 18-300mm and 105mm lenses easily.
yes it definitely would
#Altura_Photo_Thick

QUESTION: ANYONE KNOW IF THE EXTRA LARGE BAG WOULD FIT CANON EF 100-400 IS USM? 3.6" X 7.4"
Yes...I believe it would fit!
Didn't come close to fitting my 70-200-2.8 so I doubt it.
#(4_Pack)_Review

QUESTION: WHAT SIZE IS GOOD FOR A 55-250 LENSE
I bought this for a 150-600 and it fits perfectly. That lens is about 10.5 inches long, and I'm able to include the sun shade. Look at the size of your lens and you should be able to determine what you need.
The mid size will be somewhat tight but will work.
I have 70-300 mm lens that is 7.5 in long and about 3.5 in in dia, with its hood. It fits in the largest of the four Altura bags.
I put my 55-300 lens in the large and it fits great.
The largest bag!

QUESTION: WILL AN NIKKOR 18-55 LENS FIT?
I have a Canon lens the same size in the smallest bag.
Yes, these are very nice with generous room in them :)
