QUESTION: DIMENSIONS SAY 7 X 11 X 13 INCHES??? THAT NOT THE SIZE OF A TWIN BED BLANKET, SO WHAT DOES THESE REPRESENT? HOW BIG IS THEBLANKET? WHAT DOES THE 7 MEA
Based on checking the other sizes of this blanket, this represents the size of the folded/packaged blanket, not the size when it's spread out on the bed. Not the most useful info, for sure!
generally twin electric is about 62x83 sometimes you find some radical disricptions and prices. A twin is a twin is a twin. I would get this blanket because my queen size is great and I think Sunbeam is a reliable company.
I purchased the twin size specifically to use on a full size bed and it fits just as expected. The sides hang over just a little and the length is perfect. The 7 x 11 x 13 dimensions noted are the size of the package not the unfolded blanket.
That is a misprint. It's for a twin bed, but could be used on a full bed, especially if only one person was sleeping in it.It wouldn't hang over each side very far, but it would work for one person ( or two if no one moved.Ha.) It's a regular sized twin size. Someone made a mistake with the measurements. Yea, that's slack.
Hi Kathy...after reading others' comments I deduced the blanket was larger than standard king, queen, full and twin sizes. I have a queen so I purchased the full size blanket based on my pre-purchase research. My full size blanket covers my queen bed perfectly. Also, this blanket is easy to wash. Simply unplug and toss in the washing machine then dry on a low setting. I bought this blanket last year and still love it. Hope this helps, Kathy!
I don't know what that means. It fits perfectly on the twin bed. Hangs over the side like any other blanket. What I did like is that there is enough room at the bottom so that you can tuck it in without compromising the wires. Just enough to tuck the bottom corners in so my Dad does not pull it out.
My blanket was a twin
This is the package size. Someone was lazy and didn't proof read or measure the blanket. (btw, I used to write instruction sheets and this would have got me in the hot seat.) Not at all helpful for the consumer.
My blanket was a twin)

QUESTION: HOW MANY WATTS
Depends on the size.
360 watts at 110-120 vac
John- I don't really know exactly how many watts the blanket does. But, I would say that it doesn't seem to be too many. My electric bill has not gone up at all, and that is with the falling temperatures that we have at this time of the year. I would not worry about it at all. The blanket keeps you warm without a lot of fuss. Hope this info. helps!

QUESTION: IS THIS HEATED BLANKET MACHINE WASH? THE DESCRIPTION SAYS IT IS BUT HOW? DO WE LEAVE THE WIRES IN? IT WON'T GET DAMAGED?
I would be sure you unplug the heating control and wash it on the delicate or gentle cycle. The wires are wrapped so that makes it waterproof. Hope this helps.
I washed my on gentle in either warm or cold water and laid it out to dry. Still works great.
Sunbeam's directions for washing electric blankets: Presoak the blanket, mattress pad or throw for 15 minutes in mild soap and cold water. Wash in mild soap and cold water on the "delicate" or "gentle" cycle in the washer for two minutes. Do not use bleach. Rinse in fresh, cold water. Spin dry in the washing machine. Then, gently shape to its original size. Machine drying directions: Caution: Do not use commercial dryers or the dryers at your local Laundromat as they get too hot and can damage the wiring of your heated product. Preheat the dryer on the "low" temperature setting for 2 minutes. Place blanket, mattress pad or throw into the dryer and tumble dry for 10 minutes at a low temperature. Remove the blanket, mattress pad or throw while it is still damp and gently shape it to its original size. Drape the heated product over a clothesline or a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins. Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug. Air-drying directions: Gently shape the blanket, mattress pad, or throw back to its original size. Drape the heated product over a clothesline or hang over a shower rod. DO NOT use clothespins. Heated product must be COMPLETELY dry before reconnecting the power plug or control plug.
Without looking up my paperwork on this, I believe the ads say it can be washed in s machine. I would use gentle cycle. Just disconnect wire from blanket.
It states that, but there's no way to take out the wires. It's all sewn in the material. My mom use to wash ours as kids all the time. I'm guessing just unplug it and throw it in, just making sure it dries for a few days. Sorry, I can't be of much help. Maybe google it. (I haven't done that yet)

QUESTION: MY CONTROL ONLY WORKED ONE NIGHT AND THE LIGHT FLASHES AND CANNOT TURN OFF--WHAT DO I DO NEXT?
Unplug it from both the blanket and wall then reconnect it then plug it back in that should work
Obviously it is defective and you need to contact the seller. Mine has worked great going on the second winter now.
You can plug out the power line at both ends, and then plug in. It seems it will restart.

QUESTION: CAN I ADJUST THE NUMBER OF HRS IT WILL BE ON, OR JUST THE 10 TEMPERATURE LEVELS?
You can only adjust the temperature levels. The item will automatically turn off after 10 hours. I do recommend buying this item. It is 5 stars and an exceptional value for the money.
Not to my knowledge. It is supposed to shut off after 10 hrs. Don't know about that either. I leave it on long enough to warm the sheets, 30 minutes or so, that's all. I do not recommend buying it. Had I known the heating capabilities, I would have never bought it. The wife was out of state when she saw it, and never checked the reviews. As a habit, I generally check reviews on electric appliances and such. For what it's worth, I submitted the same review directly to Sunbeam. They didn't like it and responded with "Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" Whatever that means. I hope I answered your question. Thanks for asking. Look for another bra nd. Google best electric blanket. BTW, I have learned many top notch reviews on ANY product come from that company selling it. That's why Amazon is suing. False reviews. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=Amazon+suing+over+false+reviews Taken from goodhouskeeping.com/ Now when I buy a Sunbeam, it doesn't work in a couple of months.. Either stops working completely or gradually gets cooler and cooler until it doesn't heat at all. Go into any store and look for blanket. What's on the shelves? Sunbeam, Sunbeam, SUNBEAM. How in the hell does this garbage product remain on shelves? Aren't they losing money out the rear from returns and exchanges? have a nice day.

QUESTION: PREHEAT FEATURE?
I'm not sure what you mean by preheat, but my son turns this blanket on a few minutes before he gets into bed and it's nice and warm when he goes to bed.
No it is not.
None but it does come on gradually.
No. My sister says it goes from 1 to 10 but she never goes past 3! Nice and warm. Just turn it on right before you get in bed as it warms up quickly. Hope this helps.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE TRUE DIMENSIONS, SURE CANT BE THE ONES LISTED? PRODUCT DIMENSIONS: 9 X 11 X 13 INCHES
I have a twin size...not sure exact dimensions but it is true to size....perhaps a little bigger. The twin covers my queen bed with no overhang. Hope this helps.
No its seems like its a little bigger than a twin)
The king size is about 8.5 feet wide by 6 feet long.. It covers our California King bed with plenty of overhang... Hope that helps...
Mine is a queen which measures 86"x 90"
My guess is that's showing the dimensions of the packaging. I purchased the twin and it's 65" wide x 90" long.
60 inches wide by 81.5 inches long for the twin I have.
The blanket is a very generous queen size. The fleece is a nice heavy fleece. I loved the first 30 days when the blanket worked.
Sir: I purchased a "twin" size blanket to put on my Queen bed with the requirement of only warming the sheets, then I shut it off when I get into bed. The measurements are approximately 5ft 4in (64 inches) wide by 7ft 9in (93 inches) long. The blanket covers the top of my Queen bed with no overhang. I have found that it heats pretty much in the middle third of the blanket and not so much on the sides...if you have a large bed and want total coverage I would suggest a larger blanket. The dimensions you mentioned must be with the product folded into it's packaging?

QUESTION: IS THIS DUAL CONTROL
Mine is dual control, which I did not want! Mine is a queen.
Mine is twin bed size, so, no it only has one control. I don't know about larger ones.
Hi, unfortunately no...
There is only one controller.
there is 2 controls not 1 like they show! i only wanted one so this person is not corrected telling you it has 1 control. again it has 2....................

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS IT?
I have a standard twin size bed. It tucks in at the bottom and reaches to within 5 inches of the top. Not sure how it would do on a extra-long twin.
Hello, the blanket is twin size. Not sure off the top of my head, but the cord is pretty long. We use it on the sofa and it reaches over the back of the sofa to plug in with plenty of cord to spare. So if I had to guess, 6 to 8 ft. It's great on those cold winter days :) We used it all last winter with no issues.
Haven't measured it, but we got the regular king size (not California King) and it reaches the head of the beds and drapes down over the foot of the bed. Definitely long enough for us. Hope this helps
All I can say is don't buy this one. It only works on high. I got two of them and neither works like it should.
BTW, mine works wonderfully. You must be careful to not crimp or fold tightly, any electric blanket.
It's standard blanket siz buzt don't buy it. It failed almostz immediatly, setting one and ten were the same after a while. The Sunbeam throw did the same. I'm back to regular blankets, cozy and no unhealthy EMFs around you!I do warm the bed with the Sunbeam Exprees heating pad which can be lefzt on. Amazing how it warms the bed under the blanket.

QUESTION: IS IT MACHINE WASHABLE?
It is easy to wash, but don't dry it in the washer. It can ruin the coils. Make sure you have somewhere to dry it where you can lay it as flat as you can.
Yes, it is machine washable, but I haven't tried it.
Directions claim it is on gentile cycle, but I plan on hand washing when needed
I have washed it and dried it both on gentle cycle and fluff dry no heat

QUESTION: EVEN WHEN THE BLANKET IS OFF, THE CONTROL UNIT IS WARM. IS THIS NORMAL?
None of my control units have been warm when the blanket is off. I have had at least one control unit malfunction - began flashing on and off and was warm.
Hi, my control unit is warm. Not sure if it's normal or not though. Assume so.
All I can say is mine doesn't do that....
I think that's a question you should direct to the manufacturer. I am not sure that's normal. I never noticed if mine was warm or not.
I find that odd. I've had at least two of these blankets and the box is not warm when the unit is off. Frankly, I don't think it should be if it is turned off.
Depends on what you mean by "warm". It's hard to discuss this sort of thing without talking about actual, measured temperature, but if it's just barely, noticeably warm in a cool/cold room, or with cold hands, that sounds normal enough. But if it seems "definitely warm" - anywhere near as warm as the blanket gets set even at the lowest setting, for example, that's a problem...
I don't know about this as the blanket was a gift. However, anything that is plugged into an outlet has a current going to it.
#Fleece_Heated_Blanket

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU WASH IT?
There are instructions on the tag for safe washing. It's a quick wash in cold, soapy water, followed by a quick rinse. It suggests wringing and hanging to reshape it, but I dry it briefly in the dryer and it seems fine.
I put mine in the regular wash cycle and then either hang it outside to dry or put it on the light dryer setting.
In my washing machine.

QUESTION: WHAT PART OF THE BLANKET DO THE WIRES COME OUT OF....CORNER? AND WHERE IS THE CONTROL LOCATED?
wires come out of the middle of the bottom...which when you put blanket on bed...is on the top of the blanket. The control is a separate wire and you can put it by the side or head of your bed.
The wire and control is located on the bottom of the blanket, unless you wanted to reverse the blanket and then it would be coming out of the top of the blanket. Your choice.
The wire comes out the center of the bottom of the blanket, and snaps into place so it doesn't accidentally come unplugged. There is then a long wire that runs under your bed or mattress and "Y" connects to the control dial up near the head of the bed -- allowing you to place it on a nightstand and plug it in to the wall.
The control wires come out of the bottom center of the blanket. This should go at the foot of your bed. The wire leading to the actual control can either run under your bed or between your mattress and box spring (which hides the wire better). Your control unit can be placed to the head of your bed where it is convenient for you.

QUESTION: DOES IT SHUT OFF BY IT`S SELF? (AUTO SHUT OFF)
No, the blanket does not shut off by itself.
No it does not
Yes, after 8 hours.
Yes, it does. I threw away the instructions, but it did say it shut off after something like 9 or 10 hours. I don't remember how many, but I know it was more than 8. Hope this helps.
Yes after the hours it states on the instructions

QUESTION: HOW DO I WASH THIS BLANKET?
Machine wash by itself on delicate, handwash, gentle cycle whichever your machine has cold rinse cold wash. Tumble dry on low delicate no longer than needed for drying.
Machine wash in cold water on gentle cycle...tumble dry low until dry. I haven't washed this blanket yet...but I have washed heated mattress pads multiple times.
I used the gentle cycle on the washer. I have an older top loading washer with the agitator. The agitator didn't tear it up. I used regular laundry soap (Tide gel packets). For the dryer I used the least warm setting, but not the "air only" setting. I had to run it twice in the dryer. I use it daily here in the mountains and it is still working great.
In a washing machine, using a gentle cycle. I dry it by hanging outside in the good weather, and hanging in the basement during the winter. Of course, I don't wash it very often, as there is always a sheet between me and the blanket.
Instructions are on the bottom of the blanket and sewed on. They call for cold water-15 minute presoak-2 minute slow wash and cold rinse.

QUESTION: IS THIS LOW EMF BLANKET?
Your cell phone and microwave put out thousands of times more EMF than this blanket does.
I don't think so, but I'm not sure.
I have no idea. Never even crossed my mind. I turn the blanket on for about 1/2 hour before I go to bed then turn it off when I get into bed. I've been using electric blankets for many years and have had no problems.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Review

QUESTION: WIDTH OF WIRELESS AREAS ALONG SIDE EDGES OF BLANKET?
16 inches
OK, I admit, never thought of taking a ruler to the blanket, but I have indeed. The top of the blanket gives you 6 and a quarter inches before the wires start. The sides each give you roughly 14 and a quarter inches of extra blanket that hangs outside the last wire. I say roughly because the wires aren't exactly straight but it isn't like they meander all over the blanket, some spots its 14 and a quarter some spots it is 14 and a half. The wires seem to fit on the mattress top perfectly and the blanket sides hang off quite nicely to the frame of the bed.
I don't know what the measurement was Joe
I have no complaints with this blanket. I have a full size blanket on a full size bed. I have fibromyalgia, thus i sleep alone. The even, consistent warmth is soothing to my aching body. I have a regular blanket between the top sheet and the electric blanket. Also, I keep a light quilt atop the electric blanket, thus creating a smooth, consistent warmth.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Fleece_Heated_Blanket

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE SIZES IN INCHES?
I don't know in inches--but it's the most generously cut electric blanket for a full-size bed I've ever had :)
I have not measured it but it fits nicely across the full size bed and you can tuck it under the top mattress if you desire.
I bought the single size blanket and it is large enough to almost cover my queen size bed.
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF PLUG DOES IT HAVE? CAN IT BE CONVERTED TO CAR CIGARETTE PLUG?
It has the standard two-pronged plug. As far as it being able to be converted to a car cigarette plug, that would have to be looked into. I know some car plug adapters these days have the two-prong adapter so yes, it is possible but you would need to look at the wattage out put to make sure it doesn't cause a fire.
My husband says its a regular house plug. Then He recommends buying a inverter for the connection to the cig plug. Or going to a truck stop to buy one made that usage. Can't find my booklet for manufacture recommendation .
It has a typical wall plug for the U.S. and can be converted to a car cigarette plug with an adapter.
Type A, perhaps.. It might not work with car cigarette plug.
My electric blanket has a standard household plug and I would not convert it to a cigarette plug. Since the blanket is rated at 180watts max, I would buy an inverter rated higher than that wattage.

QUESTION: HOW MANY CONTROLLERS ON THE FULL AND THE QUEEN, BLANKETS?
There are 2 controllers on the queen.
We bought the King size and it had 2 controllers. I believe full and queen only have 1 controller.
Ww boughtba full and it has 1 controller. I dont know about the queen.
I HAVE THE FULL..IT HAS ONE CONTROL
We have the full and it is one controller

QUESTION: IF I GET IT HEATED UP AND THEN PUT IT OVER MY CHILDREN IN A STROLLER FOR A SHORT WALK TO SCHOOL AND BACK WILL IT KEEP SOME OF IT'S HEAT (15 MINS)
If you cover the electric blanket with quilt to stop the heat diffusion, it's possible to keep a little heat I think. If not, the electric blanket will just stop working and cool down after pulled over.
Probably not just by itself, but if you put in in the stroller for, say, 30 minutes before you leave so it can warm up the stroller's seat and padding, it should help. Since electric blankets aren't generally very thick, they themselves do cool down pretty quickly once turned off/unplugged.
It takes approximately 6 to 8 min to heat and it takes about the same time to cool down. The 15 min time would be at the last part of the heat. A light extra blanket on top to insulate would help.
Not sure. It is reasonably thick so it might...
Blanket was no good. would not heat up.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Fleece_Heated_Blanket

QUESTION: FOR THE QUEEN SIZED HEATED BLANKET, ARE THERE IN FACT DUAL CONTROLS AS ADVERTISED?
no. there is only one controlled on the blanket that I purchased.
I do know as I purchased the full size which has one controller
Yes there are dual controls for the queen sized heated blanket. The queen and king size are the only ones that come with dual controls.
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: CAN I FEEL THE ELECTRIC COILS IN THE BLANKET?
Barely !
Yes.. a little bit... if you put a sheet or blanket Inbetween you and it...it's not bad... doesn't bother me, nor the wife when we do it that way
To some extent. I've never had or used a "reasonably priced" electric blanket that didn't have noticeable wires. I suppose a very thick blanket could "hide" them completely, but I'm sure such a think would be much more expensive than the run-of-the-mill consumer models.
No more than expected. It was never a bother. I higher advise you to NOT buy this product though. Mine broke after a month and did not get nearly as hot as it did before.
Not really. I use the blanket on top of the top sheet and the feel is just like having a regular blanket in its place. I suppose if you intentionally ran your fingers across the blanket, you would feel the heating wires.
#Fleece_Heated_Blanket

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE ELECTRIC CORD?
about 102 inches from electric plug to controller and then 36 inches from controller to blanket.
151 inches from the blanket to the control, 6 feet from th control to the wall plug
Pretty long such as 5 feet!!!!
Hi Pat, I don't actually have the blanket. I ordered it for my Dad. He said it is 4-5' in length.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Review

QUESTION: HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT WASHING ONE OF THESE?
I just put it in the washing machine and dry it in the dryer. Use low settings for both. Make sure it's completely dry before plugging back in. I've been doing this for years and have had no problems. By the way, it has washing instructions on a sticker near the plug. It specifically says not to dry clean.
I have always washed my blankets in my washer. There are instructions on the blanket tag. You can also put this in a dryer. Instructions on the blanket tag. I have put mine in the dryer and I have also hung the blanket outside. Do not use commercial dryers. I wash my blankets alot.
wash on cold delicate cycle and air dry due to electrical connections.
Just follow the directions that come with the blanket. Don't worry...they can be washed and dried at home.
It comes with complete instructions on how to wash it. No worries!!!

QUESTION: HOW MANY CONTROLLERS?
one. one more thing - this blanket turns itself off automatically after ten hours.
Just one
The one I purchased has one but there are some available with dual controls.
1 but this blanket is awesome - more than I expected
I have the queen size and it has 2 controllers.
does it have dual controls?
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE CONTROL CORD
About 6 feet.
the control's wires have enough to plug in at the foot of the bed and come to the head with plenty extra so you can put it on your night stand or in my case in it . The plug in for the electric is about six feet or more which in my case plugs in behind the bed wall and have plenty. Enjoy your toasty warm bed on cold nights and sleep- ins on the weekends!
It's pretty long, I usually keep it tucked under the bed.
I would say around 6 - 7 ft long.
the cord control is pretty long. i didn't measure it but on my queen size bed there is plenty of cord. it's dual control and has lots of room to fit on each side of the bed. i'm sure you won't have a problem.
I really can't tell you without taking it off the bed but I ran it under my bed and had extra cord at the headboard. Dual controls are nice also.
#Fleece_Heated_Blanket

QUESTION: THE QUEEN COMES WITH DUAL CONTROLS. IS IT NECESSARY TO USE BOTH, OR IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONFIGURE IT SO ONE CONTROLS BOTH SIDES?
I don't think so, but I haven't tried it.
Each side is wired independently to use the separate controls. Unfortunately there is not a way to use a single controller to control both sides.
I do not. Think so.

QUESTION: DOES THE LIMITED WARRANTY COVER IF THE BLANKET STOPS PRODUCING HEAT AFTER 30 DAYS?
do not know can't find my paper work sorry
The blanket comes with a 5 year limited warranty. You'd have to read the information that came with the blanket to find out what "limited" means, but if your blanket is not heating, check all the connections first. Turn off the controllers, unplug the blanket from the wall, and then plug it back in again. The controller should flash and then reset itself. If this doesn't work, go on Sunbeam's web site and get the form needed to return the blanket for repair or replacement.
Go to manufacters website for service, amazon sould be able to supply the purchace date if bought through them
Not sure but amazon is great about all of their products so I am sure they will assist you with any thing that comes up.

QUESTION: WATT
It doesn't say.
Hi Pinky...This electric blanket uses 150 watts maximum (at the highest setting), which costs around 2 cents per hour . Once your selected temperature has been reached, the electric blanket or throw only uses the amount of power required to maintain that heat setting, making it even more energy efficient.
