QUESTION: CAN THIS GO UNDER THE FITTED SHEET AND BED SHEET? OR DO WE HAVE TO SLEEP DIRECTLY ON IT TO FEEL THE WARMTH?
Yes treat it like a regular mattress pad by putting a fitted sheet over it. You'll lay on the fitted sheet and feel the warmth. I always pre-heat before bed :-)
You can use it on mattress covered by fitted sheet. bed sheet, blanket, and bed cover. You sleep regular in bed. Heat rises. Sleep on top of bed cover if you like. You will feel the heat..........
Both in our older one and this, we put it on the mattress under the mattress pad, then the fitted sheets etc. It would be too hot otherwise, and stays put year around until you purposely take it off by removing the mattress pad.
It goes under your fitted sheet just like a normal mattress pad.
I have mine under the fitted sheet. It continues to be warm and toasty in the bed. I only keep it on 2 or 3.
I have had HEATED pads for 20years or more! How ever you have to be FIRE 🔥 WISE!! Yes you can, it is designed to be able to put it on TOP of the mattress, mattress pads, and UNDER THE FIRST, OR FITTED SHEETS, Your not supposed to put any other type of pads over the TOP of it!!♨ If you have one that is installed between 2 pads, you should take the TOP pad off. You trap half of the heat between the pads, like a sleeping bag does. Most of the HEATED pads are made to pass the heat 1 WAY ONLY.** I HAVE STARTED A FIRE IN MY BED AND THE Pad caused it. Because I didn't know that about the pads. Always get a good one with automatic shut OFF, after 8 or so hours of being on, or shutdown if the Temperature of the bed gets to Hot.*** Never cover the Pad with a PLASTIC, rubber, water proof pad or sheet Will cause a Fire,!!♨ also it shortens the life of the pad! R/S- Kando
Yes it can go under; I use them under Coleman Autumn Sleeping bags and they work out fine. in my case I do safety pin the perimeter of them to the outside edge of the bottom of the bag, Because the bags are over cots or undersize mattress pads/bunks I make sure I don't get close to the wires, staying about 2 inches from them. You do not want any electric blanket wadding up or temps can escalate due to kinetics of heat being trapped in the folds. CMVHighPriest
Under your fitted sheet. You can position the plug at the top or bottom of bed, depending on the closest plug.

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN EACH CONTROL? DOES EACH CONTROL THE HEAT ON ONLY ONE SIDE OF THE BED?
There are two seperate heating elements. One for each side of the bed. There are two separate controls for those heating elements.
Yes it does
For a queen or king size mattress pad, one controller turns on the heat for one side of the bed
Yes each controls one side of the bed.
Yes. It's great if you share a bed with someone who may not want the same level of warmth as you.

QUESTION: THIRD ONE NOW. FLASHING LIGHT/SHUTS OFF MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. HAPPENS 4 OUT OF 5 NIGHTS. I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS ISSUE. WHY'S IT HAPPENING?
Flashing light usually indicates an interruption in the power supply. Check your cord connection - typically in the center at the foot of the bed.
This is in the owners manual. It doesn't say it outright but it is a failure if the equipment and you have to unplug and replug in order for it to work again. If it happens too much you can return it. It happened to me a lot during the winter and I threw it out and bought one made by Biddeford. It isn't quite as warm, but it hasn't shut off yet after 6 weeks. I also bought their heated blanket so I will be truly warm this winter:)
I have bought two of these at Walmart in the past week for my 94-year old mother. Both had this problem about every third night. I returned the first one, thinking there couldn't possibly be two duds in the same shipment. Now have the second one ready to return. Power connection looked good, am thinking it's a thermostat problem.
I agree, this has happened to me, too. After reading more reviews with people (like you) having this issue with multiple replacements, I've decided to just return this for a refund instead of hoping for luck with a replacement. Ugh--very frustrating to wake up in the middle of the night cold!
I haven't had the flashing or turning off before time was up. i did get a loss of heat from the source not being as strong in a variety of spots. after-awhile i realized feeling the cords coming up through the padding was enough for my 2nd return. i'm going for a thicker higher quality next time. great product idea if they could perfect it. =)

QUESTION: WHAT DOES FF MEAN WHEN YOU TURN THE PAD ON?
FF may indicate there is a problem with the heater. Unplug the system from wall outlet. A few suggestions to fix this are to check that the control is well connected to the module, plug the power cord into the wall outlet, and set the control to "on". If those don't work, you may need to cantact Sunbeam or the company that manufactured your pad
The only letters on the single control are H and L for high and low, that I can see.

QUESTION: IS THIS TRULY EXTRA LONG? I READ IT WAS MISS-MARKED. I DON'T WANT TO WASTE MY TIME AND $ TO SEND IT BACK IF IT IS TOO SHORT.
If you are speaking of the depth of the pad, It is extra deep. I have a deep mattress and a 2 in memory foam topper over ithe mattress as well. It fits comfortably, not especially tight. Unless you have ann usually high mattress, it should fit. If you are asking about the actual length, as from the head to the foot of yne bed, it should still fit. It is not an extremely tight fit either way, so thinking it could go a little longer. Hope this helps.
I bought 2 of these and both were different. I recommended this to 3 friends and each of theirs was different as well. Today companies do not manufacture, they just put their name on it. So one model could be manufactured in China, Mexico, and Philippines, each a little differently, sent to the USA and Sunbeam then places their name on it. I know these are not manufactured by Sunbeam, because I have seen them sold by Macy's and other department stores with different names on them. I know they are the same because the other brands have exact, identical controllers. I complained to Amazon about the incorrect descriptions and pictures. They did update them. In the end, all you can do is buy one, see if it meets your needs. If not, return it to Amazon.
It is definitely long enough. Very pleased.
"Extra long" - by what definition. I have a double bed extra deep mattress. This could fit a queen mattress with not too much problem. Of course, the electric coils would not be edge-to-edge as they are on the double. but it would fit. Hope this answers your question.
it fits our 78 wide by 80 long bed
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Polyester_Heated_Mattress

QUESTION: IF I BOUGHT A TWIN XL, WILL IT ALSO FIT A REGULAR TWIN OR WILL IT BE TOO BIG?
It will fit fine. The XL is a bit longer to fit the longer mattresses that are almost standard in a college dorm room. So you just have to tuck in the foot a bit.
Twin XL is about 5 inches longer than regular twin, so you'd have a little extra length to deal with. Since wires are not supposed to be trapped, I don't think you could fold extra between head/foot boards.
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: WHERE ARE THE CONTROLS, AT THE FOOT OF THE BED OR THE HEAD? IF THE CONTROLS ARE AT THE FOOT, CAN YOU PUT THEM AT THE TOP?
The controls are at the foot of the bed. You can move the controls by turning the mattress pad around and putting the controls at the top of the bed....which is what I did. It also made it easier to plug the unit in because my outlet on the wall is at the top of my bed. We either put the controls under our pillow or on the nightstand. This is a very nice addition to our room which is an ice box at night. Hope this helps.
You plug it into the bottom of the blanket, but the cord is really long, so you can place the controls anywhere along the bed. From the foot of the bed to the head of the bed.
There's a long cord coming out from the bottom and goes around the bed from left to right. Each side has a controller at the top.
There is a plug at the foot of the bed. The cords are then run under the bed to the head. One controller is to one side. A cord runs from that contoller, straight across to the other side for the other controller. The power cord runs off of that 2nd controller from that point.
I don't know why people are saying that the controls are at the foot of the bed. THEY ARE NOT! They are at the head of the bed. You plug the cable in at the plug, which is at the foot of the bed, then you run the wire under (or around) the bed up to the head, plug it into an electrical outlet and then place one controller on each side of the head of the bed.
At the foot of the bed

QUESTION: WHERE DO THE WIRES PLUG IN TO THE PAD? I BOUGHT ONE OF THESE FIVE MONTHS AGO AND IT HAS A BLOCK AT THE FEET. IHAS THE CONNECTION CHANGED?
The wires plug into the two blocks at the feet. There should be one blue one and one green one.
the block at the feet is where you plug in the cord
Mine has a plug in on each side at the foot of the bed. Not sure what you mean by 'block'. Most of the time we just heated the foot area. Worked perfectly.

QUESTION: DOES THIS FIT A DEEP MATTRESS?
I have a mattress with a pillow top and it fits with ease. The side panels are large and can be tucked under if too big. My mattress is 8" +3" pillow top and room to spare. Hope this is useful
Oh yes it does! The "wrap-under" portion is stretch material and there is enough of it to fit a mattress 15-16" deep - however it fits my 9.5" mattress perfectly as well. With snow and sub freezing night temperatures, I am again thrilled I found this item. When/if it gives up, I will purchase another that same day - I never intend to be without. Enjoy cosy warm evenings this winter.
Yes. Our mattress, with foam topper is 15". The pad fits easily. I just measured that there is about 20" of skirting on our pad.
Yes my mattress is 15 inches deep and this fits with plenty of room to spare.
yes it dose i have a meme from bad so it is deeper thin most beds and it fixs good. i m very happy.
I have a Sunbeam Model L85-KQR Remote control, Therapeutic mattress pad. It heats in six (6) separate zones. My pad has super stretchy sides and fits our deep mattress well. I am not sure about the model that you are looking at. Hope this helps. :-)
Yes! We have a queen pillow top mattress. It fits like it was made just for it.

QUESTION: DOES THIS HAVE DUAL CONTROLS AS PICTURED?
Yes, Queen and King have dual controls.
we got two twin extra longs to use on our king bed. each has separate controls. I am not sure if the other sizes have dual controls.
Yes they are a little industrial looking but are easy to read and set.
The one I received has dual controls which is awesome. I love mine and sleep the best amd get the best rest!
Yea the queen size has dual controls

QUESTION: JUST RECEIVED THIS IN QUEEN SIZE TODAY.....ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT GETTING WARM? CALLED THE COMPANY, DEBATING ON SENDING IT BACK ALREADY....
Make sure your bedsread is heavy enough to hold the heat. also if you are not in the bed and put your hand on it it won't seem warm. Mine was warm enough but the controller kept blinking and shutting of the heat. I replaced it with a Biddeford which doesn't seem very warm. Oh well.
Ours works perfectly. We love it. We turn it on about 30 to 45 minutes before getting in bed and it is toasty.
Ours was at first, we had to push the plug into the mattress harder.
Ours feels warm almost immediately after getting into bed.
My king has no problems heating up at all, in fact, it really fast. You may have a bad one.
i have had this very problem after a few wks of use. I'm on my 2nd and i don't know if it's just the queen size having faulty issues. I use heavier blankets and wait 20 mins before bed, but in the first week I couldn't turn it down enough it was scalding. Now i forever have cold feets! =) UPGRADE!

QUESTION: WHAT KIND OF BAG DOES IT COME IN?
It comes in a plastic zipper bag like some sheet sets.
Just a clear plastic bag with a zipper. I imagine it would be difficult to get it back into it.
The sort that most come in, plastic, but in a box also from Amazon. I am very pleased with them as I bought two at the time.
A plastic zip bag.
no bag
It comes in a plastic zippered bag that can be used when storing, if needed.

QUESTION: IS THIS WATERPROOF? OR IS IT OKAY TO USE UNDER ANOTHER THIN WATERPROOF MATTRESS PAD?
Im dont think it is water proof but I use mine on my mattress with a fitted sheet and normal sheet ontop of it and lay on all that and it works fine so im sure using a thin water proof pad would work alright for you
I don't think so, it is just material with wires running through it, one side is working ok, one side is not warming at all and we only used it for a month or so although we left it on the bed not turned on. I plan to buy another one but not this one. Hope this helps
No it's not supposed to be waterproof. I do use the heated pad under a wool mattress pad and usually turn it off when I go to sleep. I'm sure you could put a waterproof pad on top.
Nowhere that I've found in the paperwork that came with the mattress pad does it say it's waterproof. Error on the side of caution....don't use it as if it was waterproof. While it is machine washable for cleaning, I would keep all electrical items away from a source of moisture while in use. Hope this helps

QUESTION: WILL THIS FIT A MATTRESS THAT'S 84" LONG?
I have a super single , adjustable bed , and it fits just fine,so guess the answer would be yes
Well I did I think it was,but I did measure it and I got ,77". So it is not that long, sorry,I was wrong.
To my knowledge have to find out what kind of mattress u have I don't go by numbers , go with twin , queen or king have look for pad that fits these mattresses
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: IS THIS HEATED MATTRESS PAD SUITABLE FOR USE ON AN ADJUSTABLE BED?
I am using it on my adjustable bed. no problems as of the last 4 months
We have 2 on our split King Adjustable bed, works great so far. We turn them on about 1 hour before we go to bed and the bed is nice and warm to climb into.
I would imagine so, I don't have one myself, but cover is very big and I think as long as you don't crimp it?, probably not suitable for one with right and left side adjustable.
I would check the owners manual and see what it has to say. If there is nothing there, call customer service number in manual.
Yes that is what we are using it for. As of yet there are no issues and they are on both sides of the bed and work flawlessly. llokensmi
It'll work on an adjustable bed.
I do not know, since I don't have an adjustable bed. From the other reviews, it appears it has been used on an adjustable bed, but I have no personal knowledge if it is specifically designed for anything other than a traditional type bed.
#Polyester_Heated_Mattress

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THIS ON A I COMFORT MATTRESS
I don't know about Icomfort but I have a memory foam mattress and it works great. If you have a pad over your mattress you should be okay. You really don't have to run it very long even though it has a 10 hour shutoff system.
It can be used on "any" mattress. Make sure that you follow the install instructions (read them first). Hope this helps.
Yes
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Review

QUESTION: DOES THIS HAVE PRE HEAT?
I put it on high for several minutes before getting in bed to pre heat the bed. However, once it's on, it starts to blink after about an hour, so all I can do is pre heat my bed. Very disappointed in the glitch (suppose to stay on for 10 hours before shutting itself off, but I have to unplug it after an hour if I forget to shut it off).
I'm using it now. You don't need pre heat with this one. You'll love it.
I don't think you'll need to preheat. Turn it on before you're ready to go to bed and it will be warm and cozy. I've never gotten it above a 3, that's warm enough. I did notice this weekend when we had an ice storm, if there is any interruption in electrical service it will blink. Unplug it, plug it back in and the blinking stops.
I don't believe there is a specific pre-heat setting. I just put it on a low setting before bedtime so it is toasty when I retire!
I'm not sure what you mean by pre heat. You turn the blanket on as far ahead as you wish. It works very well.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Polyester_Heated_Mattress

QUESTION: WHY DOES THE PLUG HAVE TO BE AT THE FOOT OF THE BED? CAN'T YOU JUST FLIP IT SO IT'S AT THE HEAD OF THE BED?
I'm not sure but if you flip it you will have a lot of extra cord at the head of your bed.
It doesn't have to be at the foot of the bed but there is a box that is about 8x8 inches inside of the blanket. While you could do it you would have this big hard box next to your head all night.
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: HOW DEEP OF A MATTRESS WILL THIS FIT?
12 to 14 inch
i have a standard queen size of the average thickness, no pillow top or anything else on my mattress i put it on
The beauty of this product is that it will fit a mattress of 9 inches.
My mattress is 9" high and it fits with plenty to spare. I would guess that it would fit over a pillow top.
My full-size mattress is 8"deep w/ 1" topper. There is about 2" tucked under all the way around...nice fit!
I don't know exactly, but I would say very deep 15" or more. The material connected to the pad stetches a lot.
18 inches
We have a king-sized mattress that is about 9" deep, and this pad fit, and probably could have easily fit over a deeper mattress.
Regular mattress went on easy. Not sure how well would fit a deep mattress although if just a pillow top twin would be fine
I have a very deep mattress and it fits well
#Polyester_Heated_Mattress

QUESTION: DO THESE WORK WITH MEMORY FOAM MATTRESSES? I WASNT SURE ABOUT THE HEAT ON RUBBER/LATEX
Yes, it works on memory foam as well.
I am currently using it with a memory foam mattress and have had no problem yet. I turn it on high for about a half hour before I go to bed and then either turn it down or all the way off, so mine isn't on the high setting for very long.
it doesn't get that hot
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Review

QUESTION: WHY DOES THE X-LONG TWIN LOOK DIFFERNT THEN THE OTHERS?
I am going to guess that this model doesn't come in TwinXL and amazon hasn't realized that yet. I ordered it as did another gentleman in the comment section, and we both got a wired, single control blanket. The model # matched the description # but obviously the features do not. They are sending me a replacement but my guess is I will get the same one again.
I just ordered this and after examining this product entry, here's the conclusion. Amazon entered the Twin, Full, Queen and King. Another vendor latched on and incorrectly added the Twin Extra Long to this entry, even though they are different products and different product code. The vendor has now also entered this under a different product description. Annoying and a waste of my reading all the reviews and for the wrong product! Needless to say, I am returning and buying the Twin pad that I read the reviews of!

QUESTION: WHAT IF I HAVE A NORMAL MATTRESS (NOT DEEP) WILL IT STAY IN PLACE?
I can't answe from experience, but I'm sure if you tuck it in, it will.
I think yes, it has pretty good elastic on the edges
Yes. I have a 10" mattress, and it's holds fine. Sometimes when I change the sheets it moves but that's it. It works like a fitted sheet and the elastic band will hold well enough.
#Sunbeam_Quilted

QUESTION: I REPLACED MY FIRST WHICH HAD DEFECTIVE ISSUES. KEEPS TURNING OFF AT NIGHT AND THE LIGHT IS BLINKING WHEN I WAKE UP. SECOND ONE, SAME THING. IDEAS?
I'm not sure but there is a 10 hour automatic shut off and a preheat which blinks. I wasn't able to shut mine off but it did reset when I umplugged it. The one I have has been working well since I received it and had the soft heat before which I didn't find as quilted as this one. Hope that helps.
i have had mine for a year and no problems
Have had no trouble with mine -- it works great.
The only time time our light blinks is when our electricity blinks on/off like during a thunderstorm or the electricity shuts off entirely for a while and then comes back on the light will blink. When that happens I just unplug it from the wall and plug it back in and no more blinking. Never had blinking issues unless the electricity went off which is rarely. Hope that helps you out!

QUESTION: DO YOU THINK THIS COULD BE USED WITH A SEPARATE TIMER SO THAT I CAN SET IT TO START HEATING ST A PRESET TIME?
Yes I do
Penny, I assume you could use a wall timer for preheating purposes.

Penny, I assume you could use a wall timer for preheating purposes.
I don't see why not. Should be safe enough.

QUESTION: I DON'T HAVE AN OUTLET ANYWHERE NEAR THE FOOT OF MY BED. ONLY ONE AT THE HEAD. IS THE PLUG-IN AT THE TOP OR BOTTOM OF THE PAD?
The plug in is at the end, you could put it at either end of the mattress but the cord is plenty long to reach from the "end" of the mattress to the wall
The plug in is at the end, you could put it at either end of the mattress but the cord is plenty long to reach from the "end" of the mattress to the wall
I had a similar issue as well. I wasn't happy with it at all and sent it back.
Plug is at bottom but has very long cord to reach head of bed
Cord is long enough to reach or you can put the plug in at the head of the bed.
You could place it on either end; however, I believe the cord is long enough to reach from the foot of your bed to the head of it if you would prefer to have it at your feet. (We have them set up this way for our daughters twin beds).

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE LENGTH AND WITH OF THE SUNBEAM MSU2CXL-11A00 TWIN MATTRESS PAD MINUS THE SIDE PANELS
80x39
80x39 same as the twin long mattress. I bought two for our adjustable bed, fits perfect.
38x80
39x80..I have had them on my adjustable dual king bed and had it for years...love it!!!
The quilted top is 40Ã--80. There is plenty of skirt to cover deep mattresses.

QUESTION: WHY DOES THE CONTROLLER BLINK AND THE MATTRESS DOESN'T WORK AFTER 1/2 A SEASON?
Try unplugging controls from power outlet for 10 sec then plug bk into power outlet. When control plug is removed from pad such to laundry, when plugging controls bk into pad, you have to unplug from power after connecting to reset the controls unit. This is just a safety thing. If it still doesn't work after doing this, contact company, they are reputable & pleasant to work with.
I know this sounds sort of dumb, but when ours started doing this we couldn't figure it out, there are, maybe, two reasons. One you have changed the outlet to the plug, or you have put something extra on that outlet, also if you have a power outage it blinks until you unplug it and then replug it. Hope this helps.
I have not had any issues with my electric mattress pad. I turn it on to warm up the bed and then turn it off when I get in.

QUESTION: DOES IT HAVE A REMOTE FOR ONE SIDE?
There are 2 remotes, one for each side. The cords are long and can be placed on the same side of the bed or have one on each side of the bed. Works great! I highly recommend.
Mine is a queen and it has two remotes.
This product has a wired control for both sides - no remote or wireless control
yes, just one side for the twin size.
#Sunbeam_Quilted_Review

QUESTION: THIS SHOULD BE IN THE SPECIFICATIONS: CAN IT BE USED WITH A REAL, THICK MEMORY-FOAM MATTRESS? NOT A MEMORY FOAM PAD ON A REGULAR MATTRESS.
Yes, I use mine on a full memory foam mattress, but of course you should consult the owners manual, which you can probably Google, to see.
Yes it can. The fitted skirt is big enough to go over a mattress pad or memory foam pad.
Yes, it should be! I agree. I've been using mine for years on all 3 memory foam mattresses in my house... hope this helps.
I am unsure what your concern is. We use it on our Sleep Number Bed. This product, probably because of the wires that provide the heat, isn't designed with a lot of stretch or give. It does affect the amount of softness or body conformity possible with our sleep number bed.
I have a memory foam mattress that is 15" and it fits and works well
yes you can we have a thick foam mattress
