QUESTION: AUTO SHUT OFF? HOW LONG WILL IT RUN WHEN FULL?
Will run about 6 hours. Auto shut off ?
Mine only ran for about 2 hours before it ran out of water. No auto shut off
no auto shut off, if there is no enough water the reaction will stop going, so it runs until not touching water anymore. If full 6-8 h, depends on water (how hard it is)
Depends upon the amount of minerals in water. I have well water through a carbon filter and it runs between 8 and 10 hours. I started buying water out of the machine in the local grocery store and it runs better than 24 hours. But less humidity.
It runs 12 hours for filtered well water.
As Anna said, it depends on water hardness. Maybe mine was defective, but it did not turn off even after running out of water, just heated up to nearly molten temperature.
I fill mine to the water level or just a tad higher, i.e. like 1/4" or less. And it runs I would say between 6 to 7 hrs and then shuts down; after it shuts down it cools down to room temp...or cold. So mine does shut off by itself when the water runs low.
Auto shuff off when empty. About 12 hours
It will run for at least 6 hours - but we have not had it run 8 ever - it does shut off by itself when there is no more water or when the water doesn't touch the middle stem.
Runs 6-8 hrs. till dry.

QUESTION: DOES ANYONE WHO HAVE USED THIS NOTICE WHITE PARTICLES AND BLACK PARTICLES IN WATER AFTER RUNNING THE UNIT? ANY IDEA WHAT IT IS?
Minerals in water. Not to worry.
Like Bob said, just dissolved minerals in the tap water coming out, to be expected. You can use a q-tip to clean the inside of the vaporizer in the lid if it gets bad.
have found that filtered or bottled water leaves less build up on the heating element. Thus less particles.

QUESTION: DOES THIS VAPORIZER WORK WELL WITH A MEDICATED OIL? IT SAYS NOT TO ADD ANYTHING TO THE WATER, BUT IF YOU POUR IT IN THE WELL IT GOES INTO THE WATER.
I add mentholatom to mine, but it's liquid & not oil. If I use it, I clean it out just to avoid buildup. I haven't used the reservoir for anything, but now I'm going to try it out to see.
i use oils in mine i pour it into the water it works fine but after a few uses clean it and start over it will be fine i love mine
There is a well that is separate from the water on top of the unit. I have never tried it so I can't tell you how well it works. Just that it is possible without adding it to the water.
I couldn't figure out how to get the medication in the water, I returned the item and have nothing positive to say about it
dont think so. in fact the vaporizer quit working. Hard to clean and filled with deposits
Doesn"t work at all I threw mine out.
I've not used any oils or that sort of thing, but looking at the well, which is quite small and unless it heats up to the point of boiling, I don't see how it would filter into the water.

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU FILL THIS UNIT? FROM THE TOP?
Yes! From the top.
Yes, the top twists off and you fill the large chamber either at a sink or by pouring water to fill.
The top piece comes off and there's a big hole to fill it with water.
Yes. Remove the element, fill the reservoir, and replace the element.

QUESTION: DOES THIS UNIT HAVE A FAN OR A NIGHT LIGHT? I WANT QUIET OPERATION AND NO LIGHT SO I CAN SLEEP.
No light, there is a fan... but there is no noise, I actually have trouble knowing if it is running.
No fan. No night light.
Hi! This unit does not have a night light. The only noise is when the steam is rising from it. I haven't used it since last season so I am not able to remember exactly how loud it was. There is also no fan.
This is exactly what you you want then.
It doesn't have either but does make a bubbling sound which, personally, I find soothing.
There is no fan or night light. This unit is a steamer. It makes very little noise.
No fan. Basically it boils the water, creating steam. That's why unlike a humidifier, there is no mold. I have had two since last winter. Both are working fine. No light either. Pretty quite.

QUESTION: DID YOU NOTICE A SPIKE ON YOUR ELECTRICITY WHEN USING THIS DEVISE REGULARLY? THANKS
No, I didn't get a chance to use it because it started giving out a burnt smell and stopped working
Not really, but we only use it at most one-third of the month and only at night and only in the winter.
No
No

QUESTION: CAN I USE ESSENTIAL OILS WITH THIS?
You aren't supposed to put the oils into the water but when you look very close at the top there is a small indentation to put oils or Vicks liquid into while it is steaming.
I do. You can put the drops in the well on top or right in the water.
I purchased for a friend. I called him and he was no help. So I looked up Sunbeam 1388-800-001 at:http://www.sunbeam.com/humidifiers-%26-heaters/humidifiers/001388-800-000.html . They list the features. It had "medicine tray" so that is where you can put the oils in. Good luck. Let me know if it works: hj29west@hotmail.com Helen
I used eucalyptus with it, you will need to clean it more often if you do use oils.
not sure, I didn't keep it long because it didn't work well

QUESTION: JUST GOT THIS, DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW LONG THE GURGLING LASTS? I HAVE DONE THE PINCH OF SALT...
This is not silence one, gurgling sounds remain all the time.
i never bought this, but i prefer cold air humidifiers. warm air ones can breed bacteria, and cause or worsen illness.

QUESTION: DOES IT REQUIRE A FILTER REPLACEMENT?
NO! After adding salt the very first time, all you need to do is rinse and add water.
This has no filter for the water, I am guessing you are asking about. But, if you have hard water then the heater in this does build up hard water deposits. I found this out when I was replacing my whole house water softener and did not have soft water for a while. If you have soft water, or have a way to soften hard water, then this vaporizer works well with little maintenance. I use this vaporizer pretty much every night during the winter months.
It does not.
no

QUESTION: HOW DO YOU CLEAN THIS?
With vinegar & water. Just soak the heating element in a bowl of vinegar. Distilled water makes it easier to clean & you don't have to clean it near as much.
wish the hell i new. just change the water daily.

QUESTION: IS THE PLASTIC SUPPOSED TO GET REALLY HOT?
It's a cheap product and horribly made in my opinion. Return and just get a better one.
Just around were the vapor comes out. But not super hot.
Mine gets quite warm but not "really hot".
I've noticed the reservoir where the water is heats up pretty hot. I'm guessing this might be the downfall of the unit, but I don't run it if I'm not in the room. It still works great though.
contact seller, explain problem, ask for replacement or refund. Most sellers don't want an unsatisfied customer.

QUESTION: WHERE IS THE MEDICINE WELL
On top in the middle there is a small shallow well.
top center. but I just add the liquid medicine to the water and let it steam
right on the top, where the vent is.
#Sunbeam_Warm_Review

QUESTION: IS IT UL APPROVED? ALSO DOES THE TOP HOOK ON SO IT CAN'T BE PULLED OFF BY MISTAKE?
Yes & yes.
yes on UL.. top does close but I wouldn't lift if full.
Hey,yes it is ul approved, and the top screws on securely works great. Thanks Jackie Lynn Campbell.
Idk what UL is. But the top just twists on, no hook but you can't pull it off just twist it. I love the hot steam it gives off.
Should be approved. Top hook is locked when it adjust. Working nicely With Warm steam vapor. I enjoy it every night.

QUESTION: DOES THIS HUMIDIFIER CREATE CONDENSATION ON FURNITURE AND FLOORS?
Mine has not. I will say it's fairly noisy, though.
Yes, when it's actually working and not sparking.
Not in my furnutire. The floors do get wet though.
No it doesn't.
I have two in my house. One in a bedroom and the other in the living room. I have them going all the time. No condensation at all. They really do help with static in the rooms and my skin is way less itchy. They are easier then humidifiers and way cheaper.
