QUESTION: I JUST BUILT A HOUSE AND IT HAS WOOD FLOORS (STANDARD WOOD FLOORS) HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF THEY ARE WAXED SO I CAN USE THIS? I DIDN'T WAX THEM.
i have original hardwood floors in my home and i sanded and put polyurethane on them. i use this every week for general cleaning. nothing else but this. i also use the regular swifter cleaner, you don't have to buy the one just for wood.. they all work the same. i love it! quick and easy!
I always make the assumption with wood floors that they have polyurethane for sealing and any waxing that needs to be done - I did myself. The Swiffer product really is more for general maintenance then it is for FULL cleaning of the wood floors. When I wanted my floors done fully I would buy the BRUCE HARDWOOD floor product available for a Home Depot or Lowe's. Then, in between cleanings and on a regular basis, I would use the Swiffer WetJet Wood Product for dust and general cleaning.
I have original wood floors in my older home. One room was sanded and refinished with polyurethane. It is kind of noticable that that floor is obviously redone. I wish they would have left it alone. Mostly because the edges are not lower than the quarter-round on the baseboard from sanding and you can see that gap. (And if I try to remove and reposition the quarter-round, the baseboards will have a mark where it was...unless I strip all that, too! no thanks.) So, I would advise against sanding old finish off unless it is really damaged. Another nice thing about some old finishes (like shellac) is that it remains flexible so it is less prone to chips. AND! you can do a repair with new shellac because the alcohol in it will "melt" and blend with the old stuff. Can't do that with poly. Also, the look of it is more authentic to the character of my house. If I wanted everything to look new and flawless, I wouldn't have chosen an older home. I just don't want my 100 year old oak floors to ever be confused with laminate. Now, care is different. Old finishes shouldn't be cleaned with a water-based product of any kind. Mostly you want to remove dust with a dry mop or rag (or vacuum...careful not to use the beater bar as it damages the wood.) Mineral spirits can be used for heavy cleaning. You should google how to tell what finish you have (shellac, lacquer, etc.) and the best cleaners for your finish. Just because it is a "old-fashioned" finish, doesn't mean it is no good. Lots of this stuff has survived for a hundred or more years...why fix it if it ain't broke!? I am not a "restorer" or anything, and I like modern amenities in houses (even older ones), but if I do have some authentic features in my house tha t aren't broken or fixable (or someone hasn't ripped out!), I want to keep them as orginal or at least appropriate to the house, as possible. edit: maybe if I could READ better, I would have seen that you said you "just built" a house. It is almost certainly polyurethane. No wax is usually put on new poly.
Do not buy this it doesn't work!

QUESTION: HOW MANY OZ. CONTAINER IS IN THE SWIFFER WETJET WOOD STARTER KIT
Starter kit works for about 1month Then you have to buy larger bottles This is a good product. I'd buy starter kit and 1larger bottle I ran out. And since I live in the mountains it was a hassle to restock. So I purchased a whole bunch this last time
The ad says 16.9 oz in the lower right corner.

QUESTION: DOES IT LEAVE THE FLOOR SLIPPERY?I HAVE TRIED THE OTHER SWIFFERS, (NOT WET ) AND THEY LEFT THE FLOOR TOO SLIPPERY WONDERING HOW THIS ONE COMPARES
I used it on my oak wooden stairway and it is not slippery with my shoes or with the grand kids sock feet.
The floor is slippery right after you apply the cleaner and wipe but dry's quickly. And is not slippery like other floor cleaners. Love it for quick clean of floors. Also you don't have to use on just wood floors, I use it on all my floors... tile, wood, etc.
I was not happy with this for wood floors, I bought this wetjet wood and I was so disappointed. Only used it 2x then gave up. Don't buy it!
This is a little hat to reply to as I don't know the donation or type of floor. I used the swifter on laminate flooring which did NOT make the floor slippery. This is a cleaner! I bought another Swifer for my hardwood floors up in N.E. The finish on the floors itself, can make the floors slippery until they are dried but I would not blame the Swifer. Let it dry!
Evaporated pretty quickly...didn't notice any slipperiness...I was generous, but not over the top squirting..2 squirts per area.
No, I did not find it slippery when used on the wood floors.
No not slippery so long as you dont put too much cleaner on the floor. I love it
Slippery is a matter of choice....Slippery as in wet, well, Yes until it drys....Slippery as in too polished, no. I guess it depends on the condition of your floor to start with. I like the polished look we get, but I have yet to find it too slippery. BUT! We have three dogs and a cat who make sure there is no slip in my slippery. Good luck!

QUESTION: MY SOLUTION BOTTLES SUDDENLY STARTED COLLAPSING IN ON THEMSELVES. ANY WAY TO FIX THIS?
I haven't had any problems with it. Maybe you have a bad bottle or maybe it's not settled in correctly. If you have not already, try changing it. Hope this help.
Mine do to but only when they are at the end of their life!! Switch over to a new one ,problem solved

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE $20 STARTER KIT AND THE $31 STARTER KIT SOLD HERE ON AMAZON? I CAN'T SEEM TO FIND THE DIFFERENCE?
I don't know. I purchased the least expensive, it came with 2 small bottles, one brown one for wood, one blue one for regular floors. A few of the napkin things...I LOVE mine. One use and the small wood bottle was gone, the bottle did a large living room, dining room, hall way, 3 bedrooms. It was a little light on the last bedroom. Home Depot sells the bottles. They are larger and they are just as great. I TOTALLY LOVE it...The best investment I have ever made. Easy to store, just love it! Good Luck!
I'm not sure, but I to got the cheaper one and LOVE it!! I purchased the 6 pack of larger bottles plus a box of pads for the free shipping. It does a fantastic job and smells sooo good!!

QUESTION: SO DO THEY SELL SEPARATELY THE CONTAINERS (ATTACHMENTS) SO I CAN INTERCHANGE THEM? I DON'T WANT TO USE THE SAME FOR WOOD AND REGULAR CLEANER.
I believe the containers are interchangeable. But, I've never purchased any other than the wood cleaner.
Yes several different kind of cleaners will fit the swifter wetjet.

QUESTION: DOES THE STARTER KIT HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED TO GET STARTED?
Yes everything is included but you should buy some more pads (I buy the off brand at Kroger for cheap--like $3-4 a pack) as it only came with one or two if I remember correctly. It does come with the cleaner though (although not as big as when you buy the refills if I recall) too and that lasted a while though.
No, you will need, if I recall the number correctly, 4 AA batteries.
Yes. It'll get you by for a few mopping jobs. I would suggest you order a set of cleaning pad refills and solution. I've been using the general solution so cannot tell you how effective the bare floor solution is.
it does and I love it but it promised me extras that never arrived and Amazon never responded to my complaints

QUESTION: IS THIS THE ONE THAT SPRAYS THE SOLUTION OUT WHILE U MOP?
Yes, it's supposed to but mine was busted and didn't do anything. Was total junk. I returned it.
Yes, there is button on the top of the Mop to squirt the liquid out. Its run on batteries, so be aware of that.
Yes, it is.

QUESTION: DOES IT WORK ON TILE FLOORS
Are your tiles wood? This is a wood starter kit. Which in my opinion is a complete waste of money.
I would go with a different brand. I will never touch a swiffer again! It started breaking within 2 weeks, sprayers stopped spraying, velcro strips stopped sticking, and the handle started breaking. Ended up getting my money back.
It does work on tile floors, however, I wouldn't use the "wood solution" you can buy other solutions that work for other flooring. The wood solution will clean it and do it's job.

QUESTION: CAN THE WOOD SOLUTION FIT A REGULAR SWIFFER STICK?
Sorry; I cannot answer this question. I do not have a regular Swiffer stick.
It appears to me that the wetjet solutions are interchangeable with other wetjets, but would not fit a swiffer, and vice versa.

QUESTION: CAN I SAFELY USE ON LAMINATE FLOORS?
Personally I wouldn't use the wood cleaner on laminate flooring. I would use the Swiffer WetJet Multi Purpose Solution instead.
I have found that the safest way to clean my Bamboo Wooden floors is with water. A little Murphy's Oil Soap in the water if there is a lot of soil. The Swiffer Wood starter kit applied too much cleaner and there were streaks on the floor. Rely on the manufacturer regarding laminate floors.

QUESTION: I WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS KIT COMES WITH 2 DIFFERENT SOLUTIONS: ONE FOR WOOD AND ONE FOR TILES. SO I CAN USE IT FOR BOTH JUST CHANGE THE BOTTLES?
It comes with one solution only. Either wood or multi-purpose cleaner.
Only a small bottle for wood floors

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THE WOOD SWIFFER SOLUTION ON TILE FLOORS TOO?
I only have cork and bamboo, sorry can't help you. it does a great job on the cork floor!!
I would not. There is a product for tile floors though that also works with the Swiffer Jet
Not sure but I am not a fan of this product overall which surprised me because I love Swiffer products as a whole.
Yes. Marvelous job. This swiffer has been the best investment ever!!!!
#Swiffer_Wetjet_Wood_Starter_Kit

QUESTION: DOES THIS SET INCLUDE THE ACTUAL MOP?
Yes. It is all in the box. It snaps together. Well worth the money.
Yes well it's pads. Save your money I thought it sucked! I was so hopeful because I love all of the swiffer products. Not this one .
yes
#Swiffer_Wetjet

QUESTION: I HAVE A SWIFTER DRY MOP. DO I NEED TO BUY ANOTHER MOP FOR THE WETJET WOOD FLOOR SYSTEM
My answer would be yes. The wet mop uses batteries to dispense the fluid. If your dry mop doesn't use batteries, then you will need the starter kit.
Yes. The dry mop does not have the part that holds the liquid, or the sprayers. The pads are also different.
No. I don't believe you do. Just purchase the proper fluid that handles wood floor.
#Wood_Starter_Kit

QUESTION: IS THIS A REGULAR SWIFFER WETJET BUT JUST WITH A WOOD FLOOR SOLUTION?
Yes
Yes, it comes with just the wood floor cleaner.
