QUESTION: SINCE THE TOASTER IS AN ANGLED ONE, DOES THE INSIDE DESIGN MAKE IT SO A WHOLE SLICE OF BREAD WOULD BE TOASTED(& NOT MISSING A TOP CORNER)?
Yes - it toasts evenly - both - bread and bagels.
Yes, it definitely toasts evenly and the entire slice of bread and/or bagels. Pay no attention to Marilyn's answer below. She is not telling you the truth. It's a great toaster. The only downfall is that some wider slices of bread are a challenge to fit in the slot. You have to manipulate the slice to get the toaster go down. Hope this helps.
he whole slice toasts. It is angled but deeper...so when the toast pops up it is still down in the toaster. there is a separate lever to push to make the toast come up high enough to grab it. Works very well even on the large wide slices of Pepperidge Farm bread.
It toasts very evenly as far as I can tell. I have even toasted homemade bread and it comes out great. It doesn't miss corners.
It's fine. The bread goes in at an angle also. It toasts like any other does. I love it.
Mine completely and perfectly toasts a whole slice.
works perfectly on all but larger Artisan type breads. This is my 2nd one now and I like it.
It doesn't toast the entire piece of bread evenly. Part of the bread does not get done at all. Perhaps it is because of the angle.
Sure does - completely toasted. With bread and bagels. Hope this helps.
So far it seems to toast evenly, note that round items such as bagels, english muffins, round frozen waffles, etc roll to the front of the toaster due to the angle. doesn't appear to be an issue with toasting but a bit annoying.

QUESTION: WHERE IS IT MADE?
The sticker on the bottom says "Made in China". But it still works great, after 6 months. I love the bagel function , but more importantly, the lever that raises the toasted items to make them easier to remove.
China. Turns out if I angle the bread and bend it a little I can get it in, and then it staightens out.
As everything else.. Made in China
Made in China - according to the stamp on the bottom of the toaster.

QUESTION: DO THE SLOTS ACTUALLY ADJUST TO ACCOMMODATE THINNER SLICES OF BREAD,OR IS IT BETTER AS JUST A BAGEL TOASTER?
It does adjust in as you push the bread down and keeps the bread centered. Also, I didn't mention in my review, but if you pull up on the lever, it will help get smaller items (like maybe an English muffin) out without having to stick your fingers into it.
Yes they adjust and you can toast longer slices as well as thinner slices of bread, Great Toaster.
there are wire frames which center the slice between the heating elements when the (bread) is lowered.
Each side has a "bread basket" for lack of a better term that holds closes and holds the bread nicely. I have toasted bagels and sandwich bread and some thicker sliced French bread. This was thicker than sandwich bread but not as thick as Texas toast. I believe that it will easily hold thinner bread than sandwich bread. In fact, the bagels I have been totaling recently are the new, really thin bagels, (at least new to me)
Yes, the slots adjust to the thickness or thinness of the bread as you push the bread down.
we haven't used a bagel yet, but there is a button specifically for "bagel." it may mean it only toasts 1 side for bagels. the slots seem adjustable, we have had regular bread slices in it.
the slots do adjust to all sizes of bread. I toast mainly my bagels but my husband and daughter use different sizes of bread
I just tried it this am & the slots adjust to accommodate any size of bread...it is an awesome toaster!

QUESTION: DOES IT TOAST QUICKLY?
This toaster does heat up fast, and has a generally nice even heating.
Don't get it! Burns in some spots. Undertoasts in others :(
It takes just over a minute to toast a piece of white bread... Wheat a bit longer and sourdough bread, even longer.
It depends upon how much you want the bread to toast. It is quicker if you like it lightly toasted. It's typical for a toaster. The size of the holes is the only issue I have with this toaster. The newer artisan breads are a little big for the slots.
Average time to toast.

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE HAD THIS TOASTER FOR MORE THAN A YEAR? DOES IT STILL WORK WELL? IT'S SO HARD TO FIND PRODUCTS THAT LAST. I MISS MADE IN AMERICA PRODUCTS
I bought the T -Fal because after 6 years my old T-Fal toaster, which stills works fine by the way, looked a little tattered and out dated with my kitchen remodel. I guess I bought it more out of vanity than necessity. It is really sharp looking, and has nice features that the old one didn't. And yes, I wish too that there were more "made on America" products, but I think we're getting there!
Yes,I have had this toaster over a year and still working great.
I just bought this to replace the one I had exactly like this one.Only difference was my first was white and I really like the black better because most of my appliances are also black. Used mine for at least 12 years and was so glad to see they are still making the same model with all the same nice features. The price was a real bargin here at Amazon also.
I bought this toaster almost 2 decades ago and use it almost every day! The only negative is that it does not have a slide out tray for cleaning so it is a pain to clean the crumbs out. Yesterday as I was trying to refasten the metal plate, after cleaning, one of the clips broke! After reading reviews while searching for a new toaster...I think I will just continue to use this one as long as there is still one clip to hold the metal plate on bottom of toaster in place!!! I think I bought it at Macys for around $60.

QUESTION: CAN YOU TOAST FROZEN WAFFLES IN IT
I have warmed homemade frozen waffles and they were great. They toasted crisp on the outside and moist on the inside.
I have never tried it, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. The slots are wide enough.
Yes, you can toast waffles in it
yes, works great
I have not tried it. However, on my old toaster I could select 'Frozen' as an additional option. The t-fal does not have that option.
Don't know. Never tried. Sorry.
Yes, it has a big size

QUESTION: HOW DEEP ARE THE SLOTS? I NEED SLOTS THAT ARE ABOUT 5.5" OR MORE DEEP TO TAKE RYE OR PUMPERNICKEL BREAD.
I just checked. When the carriage is pressed down, it is exactly 5.5 inches. However, I have toasted some of the Pepperidge Farm pumpernickel rye in this and found it worked for me to cut the slice in half first and use one half in each of the two slots.Hope this helps.
I just measured the slots and, by my son's elementary school ruler, and they measure 5.75. I have had no trouble as I use the toaster primarily with English Muffins. I am not sure of the size of pumpernickel or rye slices, only that I enjoy them when I eat them! Good luck ... I like the toaster very much. May D
Slots are exactly 5.5 in deep when pushed down into toaster but only 5 in in toasting area.
The slots are only 5" deep. This toaster is only for regular slices of bread. You will have to order a toaster for such a bread from Amazon to serve your purpose.
This toaster will not work. The slots are not even wide enough to accommodate a slice of rye. I have to put rye bread in sideways and then flip it over in this thing. The slots are shallow and not wide at all.
They are about 5-51/2 inches deep and about 7 inches wide. I thought that toaster slots would be more or less standard. Please remember that these are approximate as it it hard to tell where the heating elements are when it is not on.
not that deep

QUESTION: CAN YOU PUT WIDE PAN BREAD (E.G. BROWNBERRY) IN THIS AS WELL AS DELI-SIZE BAGELS?
I don't know what wide pan bread is but if its the size of Texas toast then yes. Maybe slightly larger will fit also!
Each slot is 1.5" x 5.5". So you can fit lots of goodies in this.
You can, it's not very deep (or high) so you may have to turn during toasting (i find this annoying my old toaster was a push and go) hope this helps
Most definitely, have not found anything I couldn't put in it yet. Love it !!!

QUESTION: DOES THE METAL TOP GET HOT?
As I said in my review, the whole toaster stays cool to the touch.
Nope
Yes, the metal top gets hot, but there is a lever to lift the toast to minimize touching the top. This is a great toaster! The one we have now is a replacement for one we had for 15 years.
Not really but I hate this toaster. It does not toast well. You have to have the temp control all the way up just to toast a simple white toast. I have rice breads and I have to take it all the way through the toast cycle at the highest setting twice.
It does not get noticeably hot...perhaps not noticeably because the lever on the right allows you to raise the o Toast, bagel or whatever is in the slots so you never have to touch the top. I love this toaster because it is sturdy, attractive and pops up dependably.
Yes - within half inch of the inside, especially on the higher end. That is why I most often use the lever that raises the toast UP so you can grab it with your fingers easily, and keep your fingers AWAY from the metal.
Yes, the metal surrounds the opening for the item inserted in the toaster. The heat rises and does make the metal hot. There is no reason to touch the metal as the items pop up about the metal and there is a lever on the right side to raise the item even further
Sorry for the delay. Yes, the metallic part does get hot. The plastic housing remains cool.

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THE AUSTRALIAN PLUG OR IS IT AMERICN
It's American. It may be available with an Aussie plug, but I have no idea from where.
It is a US 110 plug.
It is American.
American plug.
The ones that I have purchased have an American plug.
Hi. The one with which I am familiar has the standard US plug. I believe you would have to use an adapter in Australia. Adapters are available from Amazon for about $14 US. Thanks.
#T-fal_874600

QUESTION: IS IT MADE IN USA
Mine wasn't. Actually I like it very much; has a lot of nice features. I had to go look in the garage at the box it came in, and after several things written on it which originally made me believe it was made in France, or Canada, I finally spotted the "Made in China" note. I've looked for appliances made in the USA for years and generally favor buying good used ones than new ones-to avoid those made out of the USA. But I do like the toaster. Most of our factories have relocated out of the country. I try to buy things made in USA if at all possible. I was in the market for a new range and refrigerator and actually finally gave up. And they wonder what is wrong with our economy????
I don't toast very often, so I didn't realize that several of the ribbons that get hot inside the toaster don't get hot, or I would have returned it. It toasts unevenly and I hate it. Just haven't replaced it because it's new and it looks good. Does that make me weird? Well I would move you away from this manufacturer, because where there's one pile of steaming dog poop, there's probably others.

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE CORD FOR THIS TOASTER?
33 1/2 inches.
Not counting the actual plug, about 32 inches.
Since I have already returned the toaster, I will have to guess from memory. So maybe 30"?
About 21 inches
The cord measures approximately 30 inches long.
The cord is 32 inches it attaches to the toaster toward the front and runs under it
approximately 24"
31 1/2 inches
so which is it? 24 or 32?

QUESTION: MY BLACK PLASTIC SURROUNDING THE METAL HAS MELTED! COULD HAVE STARTED A FIRE AND LOOKS TERRIBLE! ANYONE ELSE HAVE A MELTED COVER?
no
No way never use the highest setting, but I would take it back ,especially if I had it a short time.
oh, my....no problem with it (you must have a defective unit)
Not I...and am in my second toaster.
Haven't had that problem. Have you cleaned your crumb tray? Excessive crumbs may burn & catch on fire.
Sally - I am so sorry to hear this about the T-fal toaster. I haven't had mine for very long- but so far it works great. Did you have yours in a confined space or maybe put it on too high a temp setting? Just wondering... Regardless, I think you should contact the manufacturer. Praise God that no fire was started. Looks like you have a guardian angel watching out over you. Truly, Jeannie Walker - Award-Winning Author - "I Saw the Light " - A True Story of a Near-Death Experience
So glad you weren't hurt. No problem like yours, but I will never buy from this company again.

QUESTION: DOES THE "BAGEL" SETTING TOAST ONLY THE CUT SIDE OF THE BAGEL?
It seems that the bagel setting toasts with more heat on the inside coils. The outside still heats up, but not as "bright" as the inside
that's right, only the center coils light - the ones facing the cut side of the bagel if you load it as the little diagram indicates
Yes.
it does toast on both sides but more on the cut sides
#T-fal_874600

QUESTION: WHY DOES THIS TOASTER COST MORE THAN THE 4 SLICE?
It shouldn't - that would be a TOTAL rip off! In December 2014, I purchased this toaster through Amazon for $40. It doesn't toast evenly, it burns at the outer edge on the bottom. But, it otherwise produces good toast, and it is a very stylish looking toaster. I like the slanted slots, it makes it easy to see how your bread is toasting, but these lovely slots can't handle some of the larger slices of bread. Next time, which I hope will be a long time, I'll go for function over style.
The prices on both are highly inflated. I bought the 2 slice in January 2014 for $25.55. At those prices I would look elsewhere.
I have no idea about the price...but the toaster (two) slice I love...it was alot to pay but...I love it...
I did not check 4 slice, don't need one. This toaster was very reasonably priced and brought right to my door. very satisfied with it, besides it has attractive design.

QUESTION: HOW TALL IS TOASTER
Approx. 8 and a half inches.
9 inches tall.
8 and a half in.
The toaster is 8.25 inches in the back, sloping down to 6 inches in the front.
It's taller than I thought, 9 inches
9" at highest point....best toaster I've ever had.
The back of the toaster is about 8.5-8.75" tall the front where the toast goes in is about 6.75" tall.
#T-fal_874600_Review

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE DIMENSIONS OF THIS TOASTER?
Approximately 8 1/2 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 11 inches long (including the knob on front)
Hi Susan, To add one thing. Back of toaster is about 8 1/2" tall as Sheri said. Front (by controls) is a bit less than 7" high. However, you may have a question about whether this will handle taller pieces of toast and it seems to. I had the same question, as I bake my own bread. It has not been an issue.
The highest point is 8.5 in. Length is 10.5 and width is 7 in. The slots are slanted for convenience but the dimmensions given should prove enough if you are looking a the space needed for storing. As to the slots, each opening is 5 in long and 1.5 wide. I did not measure the depth so as not to damage the filaments, but they take most standard slices of breads.
9" high in the back6" high in the front 9" Deep and 7" Wide

QUESTION: IS IT HOT TO THE TOUCH?

No
The toaster itself does not get hot, warm around the two slots, but overall it does not get hot.
No
No
The top only (metal part)
No
Not at all! The sides stay cool.

QUESTION: WHERE IS IT MADE
China. Where everything seems to be made now.
China
Hi, I could have answered that without double checking it.....China :(
China
Joan This toaster is made in China though quality is quite good used it this morning and no problems mine is black body an chrome trim another great feature is cord is stored inside so you only have amount of cord you need instead of six miles of cord laying around. Hope this helps, you are a smart consumer to ask people who have items before you buy. Gary
The toaster is made in China
Hi Joan, the T-fal address that I have is 1 Boalnd Drive, West Orange, NJ 07052. I believe the main manufacturing location is in Toronto, Canada. I had a T-fal toaster before and it had lasted years but we recently replaced it for a new color. The old, red toaster still works fine after 10+ years. Hope this helps, Brian

QUESTION: IS THERE A CANCEL FUNCTION THAT LETS YOU POP IT UP BEFORE THE CYCLE IS DONE?
yes
Yes the middle button on the left side is stop.
Nope. I have to use the push down lever to get the thing to release my toast before it is done. This is a very simple toaster, nothing fancy
Yes, you may hit the cancel button on the bottem right side of the toaster.
#T-fal_874600_Review

QUESTION: WHAT DOES "BAGEL FUNCTION" DO? DOES IT ONLY TOAST ON ONE SIDE?
I'm pretty sure that just means the heat is less intense on the bagel setting, because bagels in a regular toaster are easily burned.
According to my sister, whom I gave this toaster to, the bagel function toasts the outside of the bagel, more than the inside. She was delighted with how perfectly and quickly her bagel toasted.
The bagel function only toasts on the insides. I noticed right at the bottom of the silver part of the toaster there is a marking that shows how to put the bagel in. I just did this by nature but I guess I got it right. You can put a very big bagel in this toaster with no issue.
Yes, it does. The two inside elements activate when the bagel function is in use.
allows wider bagels to fit in slots. Nice toaster!

QUESTION: IS IT A 2 PRONG OF 3 PRONG PLUG IN.
2 prong polarized plug
I'm not at home tonight but my whole house is 2 prong & I have to use adapters. I had one in the kitchen but recently moved it to my Christmas tree lights for the power strip & I made toast yesterday morning so I can say 2 prong with certainty without looking :)
2 prong
#T-fal_874600

QUESTION: DOES IT HAVE A REMOVABLE TRAY FOR CLEANING CRUMBS?
yes, but it does not slide out. the toaster must be turned uside down to take the tray out. but the toaster works so good, and looks so good, we overlook the tray acess....
yes - BUT - DON'T BUY IT!!!! We are on our second. The lever keeps failing. The first failed within a month so that was exchanged for free. The second failed within 7 months and T-fal want us to post the toaster back at OUR expense then wait 4-6 weeks while they either repair or replace it. My sister also has a T-fal toaster and guess what - the lever on hers failed too. Should have listened to her in the first place and not bought one. Please don't make the same mistake that I did.
Yes, there is a removable tray at the bottom for collecting crumbs.
Yes it has a tray to remove crumbs

QUESTION: WHERE IS THIS TOASTER MADE? CITY? STATE? WHAT PERCENTAGE IS MADE IN THE USA?
It was made in China.I really prefer to buy products made in the good ole USA! Seems like getting harder all the time to find products made in USA. Think it's time for a BIG change!
West Orange, New Jersey.
It is made in China.

Yes, it toasts perfectly even on both sides.
Yes, it toasts evenly on both sides. It also has a bagel setting that will only use the inside heating elements.
No, this toaster does not toast evenly and I was very disappointed with this purchase. I read the reviews and they looked good but the toaster did not live up to the good ratings and I'm not that picky.
It does NOT toast evenly. It toasts the top and I have to flip to get the bottom toasted.
Definitely does NOT toast evenly. Very spotty. Wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.
It is average.
No, I'm going to return it. It toasts both sides but only the bottom half.
