QUESTION: IS THERE A REALISTIC WAY TO FLIP AN EGG IN THIS PAN?
cut a round piece of bread the size of an egg then flip it in the pan do this enough and you will get the flipping motion down this is how i learned and i have flipped a million eggs in my 20 years of food service
yes bought a small spatula from tjmaxx for $4 works great
I use a heat proof rubber spatula, works great.
The most "realistic" way is to slide a flexible spatula under the egg, lift spatula from pan, rotate your wrist 180 degrees and place egg back into pan.
The best spatulas I've found for this little skillet is the Jo!e Lil Flip.. Jo!e Lil Flip Nylon Egg Spatula (1, A) and, the Mini Bakey spatula (the flat more spoon-like one), 50794 Mini Bakey Spatula works well too. Key is to make sure the first bottom side of the egg is cooked well enough for the flip.
Indeed - I just flick the wrist and the egg flips itself.
I have a small pan like this, so I have a solution. I put the egg in the pan, cook until it needs to be flipped, and I turn it over into another frying pan that has been heated and the shape is still round, and I don't have to struggle with the flipping, and trying to keep the yolk from running. It takes 2 pans, but it is worth it.
I use a spatula without any issue
If you're a good flipper there shouldn't be very difficulties. The sides are rather low and the nonstick is excellent.
This spatula works perfectly. See a picture of it with the pan in my review. OXO Good Grips Silicone Cookie Spatula

QUESTION: WHAT SIZE LID COULD I USE FOR THIS FRY PAN?
The skillet is 4.5". To make an egg sunny side up rather than over easy, I use a saucer as a lid.
Hi Mariah, That is a very good question...this is a one of a kind, ONE egg only pan and it
For the tiny one? I would be amazed if you could find a lid for it. Not sure why you would need one for such a small pan, though

QUESTION: CAN YOU BUY A LID FOR THIS ANYWHERE?
I haven't tried to find a lid, but improvised one a couple of times. The lid that fits the farberware 1 and 1 1/2 qt pots will cover it loosely. Also, I don't know if they are still selling them at Bed Bath and Beyond, but I was given a holiday gift of Mrs. Field's cookie in a pan (bake a cookie in a 4" cast iron pan). That little cast iron pan fits perfectly over the top and is heavy enough to form a tighter seal.
if you find one let me know, I have been looking for a while. Joie used to make a lid for their small pan which fits the t-fal pan, but I haven't seen one online recently.
Not that I know of...go to Toys-R-us you maybe able to find the lid for this in the Barbie doll/girls' make-believe cookware area :-)

QUESTION: NEED A COVER FOR THIS SMALL EGG PAN
I use a cover because I like to melt cheese on my eggs . . . I really wish T-fal would make a lid for this as an optional purchase!
If you like your egg really well done you need a cover, you can always turn it over which is what I do. Just remember keep the heat low to avoid messy burning and sticking

QUESTION: WHERE IS THIS MADE? IS IT FROM CHINA??
I can't be sure, but I saw some on another site several listings for this that said MADE IN CHINA. Mine is still holding up though - have had it at least a few years now. Use it fairly often and it's still in very good shape with a tight handle.
I am not sure but I believe it is made in China but is super quality compared to many products made in China that are not good quality. I love mine.
I could not find out where this pan is manufactured, however, it is a very good quality pan---I use it at home and for hiking. I love it!minibulldesign.com makes a nice lid for this pan!
The label on mine says "Made in Vietnam"
Don't know. No markings on the pan. T-Fal is a French company.

QUESTION: I HAVE OIL BURNS THAT HAVE TURNED BROWN ON THE BOTTOM AND THE RIM. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BEST WAY TO CLEAN THOSE?
soap and water will do....
If you have the small egg T-fal frypan, throw it away and spend five dollars on a new one.
Soak in hot water and use some brillo on the bottom and rim. you made the pan too hot when you cooked

QUESTION: CAN YOU COOK TWO EGGS AT ONE TIME? I USUALLY DO TWO EGGS AT A TIME.
This is a very small drying pan...only one egg.
Absolutely! I think it cooks two eggs better than one. I posted pictures of the pan with one egg and two eggs for reference.
Yes
Yes two eggs
I don't think you would be able to properly cook 2 eggs at one time unless you were scrambling them. One egg takes up the whole pan.
I just had two eggs for breakfast that I cooked in my t-fal frypan. Works just fine.
you can do 4 eggs at a times 5 be over filled
I use mine for two whites and one yolk. Sometimes I use it for two eggs . . . it works but it is a little tight when using larger eggs.

QUESTION: WHAT SIZE LID DO I ORDER FOR THIS; 4.75" OR 5"? THANKS
Neither, this pan is very small. It is about 3 inches in diameter, basically the size of an English muffin or bagel. It allows you to make the perfect sandwich.
4.75-Inch. For an egg, it's enough. And just for an egg.

QUESTION: IS IT JUST ME OR ARE THEY PURPOSEFULLY NOT SHOWING THE RIVETS ON THE INSIDE OF THE PAN... ARE THERE RIVETS ON THE INSIDE OF THE PAN?
There are two Teflon coated rivets inside the pan connecting the handle to the pan.
There are two rivets inside, but they are smooth, and coated with the non-stick surface
Yes, there are 2 rivets in the pan but it has with cover on the rivets. It shoudn't be like that? I don't know that it makes some problem with cook?
My pan is completely smooth and looks the exact same as the picture.
Yes, the 2 handle rivets are inside the pan. These rivet heads are only bad feature. They are not nonstick and will collect food like scrambled eggs.

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE USED WITH GLASS COOKTOP?
sure. with tfal you use low heat.
Yes, I believe so.
Yes, it works very well.
I have been using it on my cook top since the day it arrived. I use it on a small burner and at a low heat. works great
Yes! Works great on mine...

QUESTION: CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TEST AND STATE WHETHER THE BASE OF THIS PAN IS MAGNETIC? (THIS IS THE TEST FOR INDUCTION READY COOKWARE.)
I just tried and a magnet did not stick to the inside or the bottom of the pan.
Nope not magnetic
Sorry hit answer too soon the only magnetic piece is the part that attaches the handle
No, it is not magnetic.
Induction heating works with both non-ferrous metals (aluminum, copper, etc) and ferrous metals like iron because eddy currents (also called Foucault currents) can be induced in any conductive metal.
Pan did not work on my induction cook top. Pan was cool to the touch after the cook top shut off.

QUESTION: HOW MANY DOES IT COME WITH?
One !!!! wonderful gift idea, like I am doing, it is only good for one egg, haha. Nice one for a shower gift or even mothers days also. Thats what I am doing!!!
just one single pan
Just 1
Only one pan.
1
Just one
One.

QUESTION: IS THE PAN GOOD FOR ELECTRONIC STOVE?
They would be fine for an electric burner. If you have a glass top surface, I would think they would be ok too. The bottom of the pan is very flat and smooth. I have a gas stove so I'm not sure if you have any special care instructions for your stove that would say not to use a metal pan, but there is nothing on the pan that would scratch the surface.
If you are speaking of an induction cooking surface rather than electric, you need special cooking utensils. Otherwise, I use mine on my smooth surface cooktop, and think its a great pan!

QUESTION: WHERE WAS IT MADE?
Tefal is a french manugacturing company. I didn't know the answer to your question so I googled it. thanks
United States of America....
Sorry, the set is in my vacation home and so I can't look at it now.
I have no idea. Ask Amazon.

QUESTION: WILL IT WORK ON AN INDUCTION TOP?
No, it says 'Not induction compatible' on the packaging. Did not work with my induction cook top. Returning as defective.
I'm not sure but I don't think so. I think for an induction top, the pan has to be made of cast iron or stainless steel and I don't think it's either.
I do not know. I have a glass top and it works great on that.
I'm sorry but I'm not familiar with induction. I just have a regular stovetop. Just keep in mind that this pan is very small and shallow. When they say "one egg," that's what they mean.
#Specialty_Nonstick_One

QUESTION: IS THERE A LID AVAILABLE FOR THIS?
Not that I'm aware of. Know that this is TINY. Could fit one egg.
I purchased two so I just flip skillet the one over the other, this eliminates me flipping the egg for an over easy egg, because it steam cooks the top.
#T-fal_A85700_Review

QUESTION: WOULD IT HOLD A CUP OF WATER?
Just tried it with a measuring cup . One cup of water fits but just up to the tippy top. Might spill over when it starts to boil or when you move it off the stove. THe picture shows the sides curved more then they actually are.
Just tried it for the first time and it will but just barely, no room for "anything" else even a grain of salt!!!
A sturdy little pan, holds up well and is perfect for one egg BUT holds exactly 1 cup to the brim which would not be advisable to use due to spillage when heated
no, too small.
#T-fal_A85700_Specialty_Nonstick_One

QUESTION: IS A LID AVAILABLE FOR THIS? IT IS NEEDED TO HOLD IN HEAT FOR SUNNY SIDE UP
A lid is not available with this. well made t-fal just keep in mind this is a very small pan
There is no lid.
#T-fal_A85700

QUESTION: IS BUTTER OR OIL NEEDED
Yes but only every so often not every time. That you use the pan
I always use some just out of habit and since it makes things slightly easier. But not really. Stuff just slides off of the pan.
It depends on what you are cooking. Very little is needed sometimes, none other times. When I make my breakfast sandwich, the little bit of oil produced by the turkey bacon is enough.
In my experience, I have have to use a non-stick cooking spray. Butter has not worked well.

QUESTION: HOW LONG IS THE HANDLE?
HANDLE IS 4 AND ONE-HALF INCHES LONG
About 4"
The handle is about 4" long. It's just the width of an adult hand.
4 1/2"

QUESTION: CAN YOU MAKE A GRILLED CHEESE IN THIS PAN? WHAT ABOUT A QUESADILLA WITH A SMALL TORTILLA?
No. It's the size of one egg.
No. Too small. Think one egg only.
This pan is smaller than a slice of bread, so you could not make a grilled cheese sandwich in it. It's super tiny.
Yes I think you could, I don't see why not.
it might be too small for a piece of bread unless it was folded over. quesadilla would probably work.
Yup , I Love My Little Pan , Use It All The Time !!!
#T-fal_A85700_Specialty_Nonstick_One

QUESTION: CAN IT USE ON THE INDOCTION COOKER?
No. It's aluminum, and the packaging says 'Not induction compatible."
I think induction is only for iron based cookware
#T-fal_A85700

QUESTION: THE DETAILS SAY THAT IT MEASURES 4 3/4", BUT THE PICTURES LOOK LIKE IT FLARES A LITTLE BIT - WHAT IS THE MEASUREMENT ACROSS THE BASE?
The base (bottom) indeed flares on to the top. At its narrowest, the bottom measures 3 and 7/8". But immediately begins to flare out to what I measured at 4 and 7/8" across the very top.
It is a little less than four inches at the bottom, wider at the top.
close to 4 good for one egg

QUESTION: IS THIS PFOA FREE? WHAT THE MATERIAL THAT MAKES IT NON-STICK?
Sorry.....I have no idea
Sorry, I have no idea.
#T-fal_A85700_Review

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE THIS ON AN INDUCTION COOKTOP?
I do not know. I use an electric cook top.
I use mine on our induction cooktop and am totally satisfied with the results!!
NO, you can't. When I received it, the label said 'Not induction compatible.' Pan is made of aluminum. I tried it on my induction cook top, and it didn't even register anything there. Pan was cool to the touch.
Yes
#T-fal_A85700_Specialty_Nonstick_One

QUESTION: IS IT OVEN SAFE?
No.
No. Or broiler either.
oven safe to 350 degrees F.
#T-fal_A85700

QUESTION: CAN I UNSCREW THE HANDLE OFF THE PAN?
Handle does not unscrew -- it is riveted to the pan. Pan is excellent for frying one egg. Eggs slide out just like on TV. Look as if they had been poached. I put a little EVOO in the pan. Works great.
No
