QUESTION: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALUMINUM AND STAINLESS IN COOKWARE?
Stainless steel advantages Stainless steel cookware, particularly pots and pans made with heavy gauge steel, is durable and, with a little care, will last for years. An advantage of stainless is that it will not react to acidic or alkaline foods, such as tomatoes. Another plus for cooks is meals that are browned or seared in stainless leave bits of food stuck to the surface. Pouring wine or water over the bits, or deglazing, produces tasty sauces. Aluminum advantages Aluminum might be a good choice because it is cheap, lightweight and easy to clean. It also heats up quickly to easily sear meats. Many manufacturers are now making anodized aluminum cookware that is more scratch resistant and durable. Stainless steel disadvantages Stainless is a poor conductor of heat, which sometimes results in uneven cooking. Food also tends to take longer to prepare than in aluminum. Food sticking to the surface can be a problem and stainless is often more expensive than aluminum. Aluminum disadvantages Cooking acidic foods like tomatoes is a problem in aluminum cookware. The pan's surface will leach the metal into the food. Also, aluminum is easily scratched or pitted allowing more of the metal to leach. Some people have raised health concerns over using aluminum cookware, believing it might contribute to Alzheimer's disease, although the FDA and most scientists dismiss any threat.
All I know is (I love my T-fal)

QUESTION: ARE THESE PANS GOOD ON A FLAT TOP STOVE?
Yes the are great in a flattop stove! Our old pans were rounded and were terrible these work well on a flat top.
great pans--all I have used the last 35 years. I call them Jan`s pans !!
I would think, I have gas though. The pans are designed to heat evenly.

QUESTION: CAN IT BE USED ON INDUCTION COOKTOP
The T-Fal skillets I bought thru Amazon will not work with the induction cooktop. Their website said to use a magnet to test the bottom of the skillet. If the magnet won't stick tightly the cookware is not likely to work well with induction cooking.
There are three simple ways to check if your existing cookware or future cookware purchases are designed for use with the NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop 2: 1) An induction symbol will be printed on the bottom of the cookware. 2) Place a small amount of water in a pot or pan. If induction compatible, water will start to boil. 3) A magnet is typically a great indicator. If it sticks to the bottom of the cookware, this typically means the pot or pan is induction ready. However there are instances where the cookware's magnetic properties may not be strong enough for the pot to work efficiently. Examples of compatible cookware: * All NuWave Precision Cookware(Uniform heat distribution) * Enameled iron and steel * Stainless steel with a magnetic base * Cast iron Examples of Non-induction compatible cookware: * Copper * Glass * Aluminum * Pottery type vessels
It says on the included literature "suitable for all heat sources except induction..
really I dont not because i have gas stove
sorry but i have no idea, as i know nothing about induction cooktops.

QUESTION: ARE THESE CERAMIC?
It's Look like casting(cast iron)..
No.
No they are not.
No. Metal with non-stick coating that is plastic-only safe
no, they are a metal pan, probably stainless steel, coated in non-stick Teflon.
These pans are aluminum with a non-stick coating. No ceramic.

QUESTION: ARE THE HANDLES REMOVABLE?
There is a screw on the handle so I'm guessing you could remove it if you wanted. However, I've never tried to take them off so I can't say for sure.
No they are not removable
There are screws but covered with covers, I don't think it is recommended.
There is a screw that when undone by an alan wrench the handle can be removed from the pan but I have never tried it and really do not intend too. But as I said the pans have a really good texture for those, like me, that are not a perfectionist at cooking. The grease wiped off when I just used them to cook hamburgers and you do not need to use a scrubbing pad as long as the texture is not scratched away.
They are not removeable. They are plastic so you have to be a bit careful so they don't melt. But no more so than any other pan. Other than that, it's a great set!
Not that I remember. It might be possible but it would require some work I'm sure. Due to my glass stove top I had to invest in a different set. I'd look for ya if they were handy.
Hi Ron, My pans appear to have a screw on the bottom to remove the handle. They might remove just the plastic handle cover or may remove the entire handle. Not sure. Hope this is of some little benefit.
No, they are not removables.
No

QUESTION: DOES THIS COME IN A BOX
It is shiped in a box, the pans are wrapped in plastic with a cardboard ring seperating each pan from the other.
If I remember correctly it did not come in an original box. It came in a shipping box from Amazon. Inside were the pans in cardboard and wrapped in plastic.

QUESTION: CAN THESE PANS BE PLACED IN THE OVEN?
I'm not sure it would be a good idea to put any pan with a plastic handle in the oven.
these pans have a plastic handle, which makes me leery of putting them in the oven. i'm not sure they would stand up to heat of that kind of heat. i may be wrong but i'd sure hate to try it.
Yes! The handle gets hot but I regularly throw them in the oven to finish dishes.
This info is from the Tfal website: Is T-fal non-stick cookware oven proof? Yes, up to 350 degrees F. only for a maximum of one hour. The pan can only be heated at high temperatures on a hob. When placed in the oven the oven heat should be at a maximum of 350 degrees F° even for a pan with Thermo-Spot as it is the bakelite handles that cannot withstand higher temperatures. T-fal cookware with plastic handles or knobs are not oven proof. Please check the instruction guide that came with the cookware to identify which pieces are in fact oven safe. If you still have any queries, please contact us for clarification. T-fal cookware should never be used in a microwave or convection oven.
you shouldnt have bought these.they fall apart in matter of weeks.and no.they will melt in oven.but they are junk all the way round.

QUESTION: HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD AN ISSUE WITH A NOXIOUS ODOR COMING FROM THESE PANS WHILE THEY ARE ON THE STOVE? I HAVE A GAS STOVE AND CANNOT USE THESE PANS!
I HAVE ELECTRIC STOVE AND HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS
I have a gas stove as well and have not had any problems what's so ever. They have worked great
#T-fal_A857S3_Review

QUESTION: OK.. DUMB QUESTION. ARE THE SKILLETS HEAVIER THAN THE HANDLES? I JUST BOUGHT ANOTHER BRAND, AND PANS WON'T STAY ON BURNERS CAUSE OF HEAVY HANDLES :(
I have no problem with the pans tilting on the burners
Definitely not, but, watch out,...they tend to buckle in the center, even if you take precautions and let the pan cool off before putting it in water. And, the handle stay cool as well!
Actually no, i dont have any issues with mine i love them
I'd say the pan and it's handles are equally light, and balanced. But nothing about the set is "heavy"...like if there were an intruder in your home and you needed to grab something, it wouldn't be one of these pans. But yes, they stay on the burners.
Yes, the skillets are heavier than the handles. I know what you are talking about because I bought a set that had heavy handles too. We like these skillets
Yes, but not a lot.
The skillets are very well balanced. I've had no problems with the three I bought. Cheers
#T-fal_A857S3_Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: ARE THESE HEAVY PANS, NOT TOO THIN, CORRECT?
the pans heavy and very good quality
These were normal pans, not thinner than I would expect, and not thicker than I would expect. They take heat well, and distribute it well, where thin would not.
They are sturdy. Not cheaply made.
#T-fal_A857S3

QUESTION: ARE THESE PANS DEEP?
I think they're pretty deep. They're all deep enough for whatever I cook in them. Here's a picture of my 11-inch one: http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q194/Zerrenta/IMG_20131206_192824_zps164de33f.jpg
no not extremly for the width thats what i would exspect
no not extremly for the width thats what i would exspect
Ptobably around an inch deep. They serve all my purposes as skilles. They are not pots. I'm very happy with them and you can put in dishwasher.
No they are not deep
Not very deep, but about average for this type pan. I use them to make poached eggs, which requires enough water to cove the egg.
About 1.5" deep. You might consider other pans if you plan on cooking foods that require much liquid.
I think are very good for regular use, I fry potatoes. plantains, pork for me are ok
#Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: ARE THOSE RIVETED?
yes. there's two on the inside of the pan & one screw on the outside underneathe the handle, going into the pan.
No, not riveted
No rivets on these pans.
Yes, the bottoms are like a target in circles
No, star screw.
#T-fal_A857S3_Review

QUESTION: I ASSUME THE 11-INCH REFERS TO THE DIAMETER AT THE TOP OF THE PAN. WHAT'S THE DIAMETER AT THE BOTTOM, WHICH IS THE SPACE YOU HAVE FOR FRYING?
The actual flat area at the bottom of the 11 inch pan is just over 8 inches. We've used the dickens out of this set of pans and they are holding up quite nicely.
Good question...8 inches....my old one was 10.5....liked the larger one better...but just 2 people in my family....I think I bought it at wall mart years ago...and may replace it in time.
It is 8" same size as stove burner. Hope this helps. I've only used small one but like it very much. Cleans in Dishwasher too.
I don't know exactly but they are pretty close.
#T-fal_A857S3_Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: THE TFAL FRY PAN SET I JUST RECEIVED DO NOT HAVE THE RED HEAT INDICATOR. IS IT SUPPOSED TO?
my set doesn't have it, but the set works well for us! We use it daily.
Mine don't either - I think maybe they have different versions of Tfal pans.
#T-fal_A857S3

QUESTION: WHAT TOOL DO YOU NEED TO TIGHTEN THESE HANDLES?
The handles came in tightened already. I've been using these for almost a year now and have had no need to re-tighten them.
I don't know. I had my husband to tighten them, didn't see what he used...Sorry
Great question. My handles are not loose yet so I have not had to tighten them. I apologize.
Since owning these pans I have not had to tighten the handles at all. My other T-fal pans are over 1 year old & have never had to tighten the handles. Hope this helps
In one of the reviews, a guy mentioned Torx.

Yes, 3 pots, 3 sizes
absolutely!! :) it's a fantastic deal, right?! I love my T-fal pans!

yes I have enjoyed them all
Yes, 3 pans in the package.
Yes, an order for 1 set will give you 3 different sized fry pans.
#T-fal_A857S3_Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: ARE THOSE PANS COMPATIBLE FOR INDUCTION TOP COOKER?
No they are not. Aluminum pans will not work with induction as it is not magnetic.
I'm assuming so! It works fine on an electric stove; the bottom is flat and heats pretty evenly.
#T-fal_A857S3

QUESTION: ARE THEY PFOA FREE? I RECEIVED THEM AND THE PACKING DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THEM BEING PFOA FREE. FALSE ADVERTISING?
According to the manufacturer they are pfoa free. PFOA is a pollutant therefore all pans should be PFOA free but I don't think they are required to put a stamp on it. All Teflon has an insignificant amount of PFOA and it is released when you leave a pan on a high heat flame. As long as you don't cook foods at 500 F all the time you should be alright. Cooking that high of a temperature will destroy your pans anyway.
No
No
#Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: OVEN SAFE?
No. It would melt the handles...
I do not know for sure. I will say I am not impressed with this set. The finish is rough and will not hold up I am sure. Things do stick to it that I feel should not. I do not recommend.
#T-fal_A857S3_Review

QUESTION: CAN I FRY BACON IN THESE IF I KEEP THE HEAT BETWEEN LOW AND MED? WHAT ABOUT HAMBURGER PATTIES?
Of course, you can and also hamburger. Thanks for your question.
yes/fry anything you want just keep the heat off of high./I fry chicken/bacon potatoes/hambugers/you name it Ill fry it in these.there the best Ive ever had for frying pans and great price.
probably. However, these pans use fairly thin aluminum and T-fal has pans with thicker aluminum which is what I prefer but not what I got.
Yes these pans are amazing. We love them.
#T-fal_A857S3_Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: OVEN SAFE
They are not oven safe.
Dishwasher safe, but definitely not oven safe to cook in (warm Maybe)
I would not go high temp with this product, but you should be able to do 250 degrees to keep food warm
#T-fal_A857S3

QUESTION: I HAVE A GLASS COOK TOP STOVE, WILL THE RIDGES ON THE BOTTOM SCRATCH THE GLASS, THE PICTURES DONT SHOW IT HAS RIDGES ON THE BOTTOM.
Honestly I would not use it on a glass top stove. The ridges may not damage it when used properly but if you moved it across the area, you might have scratches.
I have a glass cooktop and they have not damaged it.
The ridges on the bottom of the pans have not scratched my glass top electric stove.
There are ridges on the bottom and seem kind of rough. I would avoid using them on a glass cook top stove.
#Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: DO THEY COOK IN INDUCTION STOVE-TOP (COOKER )?
I don't think so. Contact T-FAL. I've only used them on the stovetop.

#T-fal_A857S3_Review

QUESTION: DO THESE WORK ON THE NUWAVE INDUCTION STOVE TOPS?
I just tried sticking a magnet to the bottom of one of these pans, and it did not stick. Since those induction cooktops need magnetic pans to function, I would say this set is incompatible with the NuWave system.
It says on the included literature "suitable for all heat sources except induction..
I don't know, I have a gas stove. Perhaps you should contact the makers of your Stove top or look in your operator's manual. They could most likely answer your question. Good luck!
#T-fal_A857S3_Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

QUESTION: DO THESE PANS HAVE FLAT BOTTOMS, OR ARE THEY CONVEX IN THE MIDDLE- TRYING TO AVOID EVERYTHING I'M TRYING TO COOK ROLL AWAY FROM THE MIDDLE.
flat
No they don't! They are excellent fry pans! I love to cook with them and they are easy clean up!
The bottom of the pan is flat but oil does roll away sometimes, but that may just be the angle of the burner.
Totally flat middle of the pan. Even eggs stay right where you drop them. The mid size pan is my most used pan. Only cooking for one most of the time. Was a good purchase.
#Specialty_Nonstick_Omelette

Did not see any warrantee. But I use these all the time and have had far better results than from other more expensive skillets. I previously returned two that developed bubbles in the non-stick coating. I recommend these highly.

sorry, but have no idea. i've been using them for some time now and am completely satisfied--- richard morrow
As far as I know, yes, however, my paperwork is filed away.

Yes
Yes they do. I have used all 3 pans on high heat before with no issues. The food was cooked evenly and the pans are holding up well
Yes, I've had no problems on any burner heat. I did season them as directed and i hand wash them. So far, I'm very pleased.

QUESTION: FROM WHAT MATERIAL ARE THE PANS MADE? ALUMINUM/ STAINLESS STEEL?
Aluminum. With a nonstick coating
Aluminum
#T-fal_A857S3

QUESTION: IS THIS PAN MAGNETIC, TO USE ON A NUWAVE 2
It says suitable for all heat sources except induction..
no are regular pans
No these pans are all aluminum. NuWave claim to fame is the way it transfers heat from the burner to the pan. It uses an induction technology which means it uses magnetic waves to transfer heat from the burner to the pan... and that requires the pan be made of magnetic material, like steel-aluminum isn't magnetic.
