QUESTION: IS THE ENCAPSULATED-ALUMINUM BASE ON THE INSIDE BASE OR OUTSIDE. IN OTHER WORDS, WILL I BE COOKING ON TOP OF THE ALUMINUM BASE?
The aluminum base is on the outside of the cookware and therefore the aluminum rests on the heating surface. The cooking side, where the food will be cooked, is the stainless steel. We have been very pleased with the cookware but learned not to cook on a "high" setting. Keep a container of "Barkeepers Friend" on hand as it seems this with a touch of warm water is about the only way it cleans up. But it does clean up and looks as new as when we took it out the box. Hope this helps.
Yes
'Encapsulated' aluminum base normally means that an aluminum disk is wrapped, with another metal, typically stainless steel, like a sandwich. I don't own these pans (yet), but do have several other pans with stainless steel encapsulated aluminum bases. The reason for the aluminum plus stainless steel is to get the advantages of each type of metal, while overriding their disadvantages. Aluminum is great for conducting heat, but more likely to get scratched and stained. It is more likely to get ugly and pitted if put in a dishwasher. It can corrode if left in contact with acidic food, and may affect the way food tastes, so we also don't want the inside surface of the pan to have aluminum touching the food. Stainless steel is not so good at conducting heat, but stains less, and has other advanta ges I can't remember. I would not want a stainless pan if it did not have an encapsulated aluminum disk at the base. If the stainless steel coating is thick enough, and reacts to a magnet, it should work with the new type of deluxe stove tops, with induction. Some very expensive pans (All-Clad brand for example) do the sides of the pan, not just the bottom, using aluminum sandwiched between layers of stainless steel.

QUESTION: ARE THEY DISHWASHER SAFE?
Yes, they are dishwasher safe. This is a great set of cookware for the price... has the feel that it should be more expensive but is not, a great buy.
They were a gift, so can't speak from personal experience, but I'm sure the are.
Yes they are dishwasher safe. I also use brillo pads for stuck on food.
There is a little bit of water spotting but they are dishwasher safe and clean well.

QUESTION: ARE THESE OVEN SAFE?
Yes. I think it is up to 500 degrees. It is listed in documentation, which I don't have access to anytime soon as I am away from home. You can search the mfg websites via Google to confirm max temp.
The lids are tempered glass framed with stainless steel so I would not use them in the oven with lids. But I think the pots and pans would be fine.
I bought this set for my daughter to use on a Induction Cooktop. They are all stainless steel. Most likely I would say yes but I have not used them that way. You might research more.....Sorry
I got out the T-fal use and care instructions for oven and broiler use .T-fal cookware with phenolic (plastic)handles ,with or without metal inserts, or stainless steel handles with silicone inserts is over safe to 350degress F/175 degrees C.. T-fal cookware with handles made completely out of aluminum or stainless steel is oven -safe to 500 degrees F/260degrees C. It says not to use aluminun cookware under the broiler(I just threw that in as the cookware is mainly steel). The cookware comes with a how to take good care of....little booklet but maybe I have answered your initial question .I have never thought to put my cookware in the oven as I like to use Corning ware for oven use so thanks for your question.
Yes, they are, but I think not the lids.
Yes.
I havn't used them in the oven but I assume so. They are steel with metal handles. If regular steel cookware is safe, thse should be...
The pots and pans are but with tempered glass lids, I would not use the lids and instead use aluminum foil if you need to cover. I, personally, don't like using pots and pans in the oven. I use my porcelain cookware instead with lids. Amazon carries a good line of ovenware. Sherri Cooking Luver

QUESTION: MY FOOD STUCK TO MY NEW SKILLET.. DOES THIS GET BETTER?
You have to really coat the pan with spray or oil and use lowest setting as possible. But there are some items that will just stick. I have a gas stove which cooks more evenly-that helps too.
I hadn't experienced sticking until just the other day frying eggs. Maybe I didn't add enough butter. Unlike Teflon, I've had to add more oil to these pans.

QUESTION: DO THE LIDS AND HANDLES STAY COOL TO THE TOUCH WHEN COOKING?
The handles do if you don't expose them to a nearby hot element. The lid handles sometimes get warm but I always use a pot holder anyway.
Let me say first that I am pleased with the performance of this cookware on my INDUCTION cooktop (That is why I bought the set). If there were any complaint, I bought non stick on my next purchase (Ozeri). Now, to answer your question: If you are cooking on an induction range, the handles are relatively cool to the touch (An example is to pick up a pot and pour off water from pasta). As for the lids, they will get hot due to whatever is inside the pot (Again with pasta that boils at 212 degrees, so yes if you covered the pan/pot, they will get hot). As for this cookware on open flame, gas, propane or electric ranges my guess would be that the handles will get hot due to the heat thrown up the sides from the flames or radiant waves. The lids will get hot as in the previous example. I hope this helps.
Not when using them in the oven or at high heat.
Yes they do , litle warm but ok
No they don't. I bought a handle cover at Sur La Table to fix that problem. I just use an oven mit for the lid.
Warm but not hot,.

QUESTION: DO THE LIDS FIT ON THE PANS? THANKS.
Not the frying pans.
Not really. Large lid is too big for small pan. Med lid fits pan but is sunken half way down. Further. I don't recommend this company. They ARE NOT stay cool handles, if pot holder is not used you run great risk at burning your hand.
no, they just fit the pots.
yes they fit fine :)
yes.

QUESTION: ARE THE BOTTOMS FLAT SO THEY CAN BE USED ON A GLASS-TOP RANGE?
Flat, yes, but with grooves. I would imagine that they would work fine on glass top surface.
Yes, they are. There are designs in the bottom that you might call embossed or indented, but they are flat. This is a great set. I cook for 6 so I had to fill it out with some bigger pots and pans, but they still look like new after four and a half years.
Yes, they are flat and work great on glass ranges or conduction ranges. I love my set.
They are mostly flat: They have a slightly indented pattern, to distribute heat evenly. We purchased one set for our gas range and one for our dtrs electric range - Works beautifully with our gas range, not so well on the coils of our dtrs electric stove. It may very well be she uses too high a flame, we are not sure but you cannot use high heat with these pots/pans. Many things DO stick to them. I cannot recommend for frying. We do not usually fry, so I love them. I would think these would work well on the glass-top... Hope this is helpful.
Yes ma'am...They are flat...but I have NO experience with glass top ranges. I can't help you with that one, LOL. But so far, I love them because they clean up EASILY.

QUESTION: DO THE LIDS FIT THE FRYING PANS?
Yes, the frying pans fit the lids from the other pots.
According to my wife they are not a perfect fit but they work well enough.
No they don't fit tightly but you can put the lid on if you want to cover something in the frying pan... but I don't think they're meant to be interchangable.
Unfortunately, they do not.

QUESTION: I'VE ONCE SEEN A SET OF T-FAL, WHERE THE LIDS HAD SOME KIND OF STRAINER ON THE OPPOSITE SIDES AND ALSO THE PANS HAD FUNNELS. DOSE THIS SET HAVE THOSE?
Hi Marta, the set I have DOES NOT have Colander lids or pour spouts. T-Fal may have sets like you are looking for, but I bought this set for my Induction cook top. There are strainer lids on cookware elsewhere on Amazon. Try Farberware, Calphalon, Tramontia or Cuisinart.
this set does not...
No, this set does not have strainer nor a pouring spout. They are very good quality, since I've purchased them I have notice some blueing of color on the inside bottom of the pans. To remedy that I purchased a large canister of Bar Keepers Friend at Walmart for $2, it works well on cleaning all my stainless steel appliances as well. You may also check out the wolf gang puck sets they have on here my mother brought a set off the home shopping net work that have the strainer in the lid. They are very good quality. Hope this helps :)

QUESTION: CAN THIS BE USED ON GAS STOVE?
I use the set on a gas burner all the time. No problem whatsoever.
I haven't tried but I don't see why not. Works just as good on my electric stove.
It can be used on gas stove...
It can be used on gas stove...
Yes, no problem with gas stove
Yes
Sorry, don't know--never used a Gas Stove before.

QUESTION: DO THEY HAVE A MAGNETIC BASE?
The base of the pans isn't magnetized- but a magnet will stick to them. They work great with my induction cooker- the steam vents will screw up rice cooking though.
They don't have a magnetic base, but they have a aluminum encaspsulated stainless steal bottom! They are designed for induction stove tops, the induction stove top uses magnetic technology and the stainless steal is what makes it work on induction heating units. I use them on my nuwave pic portable stove top. They have the induction label on the bottom of each piece. They will work on any type of stove, gas, electric, induction etc. the set is extremely well made and beautiful with ultimate quality!
Works well on induction cook top...I am very pleased with this set of cookware.
To the best of my experience/knowledge--no, however, I would recommend anyday. Hope this helps

QUESTION: IS THIS PRODUCT A NONSTICK?
Yes it is best i have ever had
No, stainless is not. But it is easy to Clean...just use oil or spray to Cook.
No, there is no nonstick coating on the stainless steel. Some things stick to it more than others, oil is better to use with this set than cooking spray.

QUESTION: DO THESE "BEND"?
I've used my set for 3 months. They have never bent.
Hello, These items are stainless steel dishwasher safe 10-Piece Cookware Set. They do not bend. We hope this helps you. Kind regards, JJRM2KDirect support team.
I'm not sure what you mean by "bend". But if you are referring to the handles, No, they do not "bend". They are sturdy, strong handles. The pots and skillets also do not "bend". Just follow the included instructions for the care of this set and you will be happy with them.
No not at all, great to cook with
No
No they don't.
Believe it or not I went to my kitchen and tried bending them. I was not able to bend them by pressure. You would have to beat them with a hammer to get them to bend.
T-fal ? No way

QUESTION: DOES THIS WORK ON A NEW WAVE UNIT
This set works very well on induction cook tops. It has the sizes I need and is a great value for price and quality. Down side is the pot lids do not fit on the frying pans.
Yes it does.
yes it does and it works great

QUESTION: ARE THESE APPLICABLE TO IH COOKING HEATER?
If by this you mean the same as an American induction cook-top, yes, this cookware is compatible. That is why I bought the set and what I use it on.
Yes it will work fine on those, just do not slide the pan across the stove, the base of the pan might scratch it. Also clean it well each time, if needed use Bon Ami or Bar keeps powder, do not use a SOS pad or steel wool items on it. Keep the base clean.
I don't know what an IH cooking heater is- they are designed to work with a magnetic induction cooker.
I can't speak to how well they work with induction, as I have yet to remodel my kitchen. However, as they are made of a ferrous metal, it should function. Enjoy.

QUESTION: ARE THESE POTS HEAVY OR LIGHT
They are light. Nice set, I like them a lot!
Sorry for late reply. Post are on the heavy side. Bottom heavy.

QUESTION: DO THESE WORK ON INDUCTION COOK TOPS (NUWAVE?)
Sorry, but I do not have an induction unit.
Absolutely ! If you look at the picture of the bottom of the pan and enlarge it you will see it says induction ready! Great set! Always use some sort of cooking spray or olive oil when cooking so things won't stick! I hope this helps you! Tony
Yes, they do. They say right on the bottom: induction safe.
yes they do, they work better than I expected! Love these!
I bought this set for my daughter to use on her Duxtop Induction cooktop. They work fine on it. But like all stainless steel cookware on induction cooktops....do not use "high" heat.
Yes they do and very well I might add....

QUESTION: DO THE HANDLES GET HOT?
Yes. They do.
yes very hot but i still like the set i just make sure to use a pot holder when ever i go near it
#T-fal_C811SA

QUESTION: ARE THEY OVEN SAFE?
Yes, they're oven safe, but only to a certain temperature, though I don't recall the exact number. I've actually switched over almost entirely to cast iron. Higher heat tolerance & totally oven safe. These stainless steel pans stick during frying pretty bad, (pots are great, still use them) and they're designed to be used at a moderate temperature. If you do high heat cooking/frying/sautéing, I recommend cast iron. It will stick some, but NOT like these. Plus they add flavor & a bit of iron to your food. I hope this helps. Good luck.
Yes, the cookware is oven safe. I have use mine occasionally in the oven but personally prefer ovenware.

QUESTION: DOES THE LID FROM THE DUTCH OVEN FIT THE LG. FRYING PAN?
No it doesn't
No. It did not fit. Sadly.
No it does not. When I bought the Nuwave cooktops they came with a large and medium frying pans. The tfal kid from the Dutch oven fits the nuwave large frying pan and vice versa.
Yes, it does. I have now had my set for over 2 years and still LOVE it! Great set for the money.
no
not perfectly. it is a littlw smaller heb the lip of the frying pan. but it works fine if you ask me
It fits INTO the large frying pan, but not as a standard lid that would sit on the edge of the pan.
