QUESTION: HI, HOW EASILY DOES IT SCRATCH? I WAS WONDERING IF IT IS SAFE/HEALTHY PRODUCT.
I have had nothing scratch or chip off yet and I have been using them for 6 months daily. I bought them as an alternative to Teflon.
The flipping utensils do not scratch at all. The pan we use regularly is the one egg omelet pan, it has not scratched. We wash this all by hand, although it is advertised that you can wash this by dishwasher.
I have not scratched mine in a couple months of daily use, and a couple times where I forgot and used a metal utensil. It seems like if you take a reasonably amount of care, scratching should not be a problem.
Doesn't scratch really at all. Ceramics are hard to scratch. Mine got a very tiny chip from stacking them. But all pans get damaged from stacking.
We've had our set for a month so its a bit early to tell. But we use then every day and they are some of the best pans we've ever had! Even easier to clean than some non stick pans. From what I've red they're much much safer than nonstick.
The bottoms scratch a lot, almost after the very first use. The insides are more resilient
Hi, we don't have any idea. We bought it for my BIL Christmas present and of course we r going to give him at Christmas. My MIL said it's good brand :) that's why we bought it. At kohls it was around $120 and it was really good price that's why we bought here.

QUESTION: SINCE THIS IS FOR LOW AND MEDIUM HEAT, DOES THIS MEAN I CAN NOT BOIL WATER IN THE POTS?
No
No
You can boil water in these. I did it tonight. Typically with low rated pots and pans it's not a good idea for the pan to sit empty while being heated, but it's perfectly fine to put your burner on high and boil water in these. I would advise against high temperature searing on something like a steak (although I've done it twice).

QUESTION: IS THE COOKWARE DURABLE? DOES THE NON STICK SURFACE LAST? LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD FOR 1/2 YEARS OR MORE. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
No
Yes
Yes
I've had mine for almost a year and so far, the inside still looks brand new. I use at least one piece every day. No sticking of anything...ever. I don't have a dishwasher in this house so they get washed by hand. In the winter, I make a lot of hot cream of wheat and the burnt cereal on the bottom comes off with my finger tip. I'm still amazed! My one and only complaint is that the bottom of most of the pans does show signs of scratching or wear from using them on my electric stove (which is quite old). This might be normal, but the fact that they're my newest pans, I've been handling them very carefully. I got them at Walmart and my set didn't come with the griddle pan. (I think it's a different option or choice here on Amazon.) I also know they won't last for ever. But I do know that my next set will be something very similar. I'm really impressed with the non-stick interior. By the time I need or want a new set, hopefully they'll make a tougher exterior. ;)

QUESTION: IS THIS INDUCTION
As I mentioned in my review, this is a good set. However, there are pieces that are not realistic since they are too small. How often do you use a SINGLE egg frying pan? I don't. As far as induction, I do not know and I do not believe it is. I hope this helps.
No, as stated in the information "The ceramic cookware set is compatible with all cook tops, except induction."

QUESTION: DO YOU HAVE TO COOK ONLY IN LOW TO MEDIUM HEAT WITH THESE
Not necessary to use a higher temp . I've found a medium heat works well for almost everything and no hot spots!
No I use all available heat settings and they work fine
No. You can cook at a higher temp but you will find, if you cook on a medium heat, there is an increase in the intensity of the heat delivered so you should watch carefully so as not to overheat, or even burn, your food. I often begin at a higher temp and then reduce to medium once the pan has heated. I never leave the setting at a high temp. This cookware is amazingly efficient. I love it. Once you adjust your habits (as I needed to do) you will love it too!
You cook at the same temps you would with any other utensils
I wish I wouldn't of bought them. They junk. I call the company and was told they do not have a higher quality set. I use my very old set of pans and will probable toss these at some point.

QUESTION: RED 14 PIECE SHOWS A PATTERN ON THE BOTTOM OF PAN & STATES "DISTRIBUTES HEAT EFFICIENTLY FOR RELIABLE COOKING RESULTS" DOES THE BLACK 16 PIECE ALSO?
Heat is distributed evenly and very well...we do lots of cooking! I really appreciate the tiny egg pan! I advise all to use plastic utensils with it to help coating last longer.
Yes it does. And works very well
#T-fal_C921SE

QUESTION: ANY ISSUES WITH THE CERAMIC COATING LOSING IT'S NONSTICK PROPERTIES OVER TIME?
yes, in fact the fry pans lose it very quickly, I don't know if I didn't clean them properly. I would recommend you buy traditional cookware set which is what I did after a few months. I purchase this Aluminum Nonstick Frying Pan Set - (3-Piece 8 Inches, 9.5 Inches, 11 Inches) - Fry Pan / Frying pan Cookware Set, Dishwasher Safe - By Utopia Kitchen for less than 20 USD and have work wonderful
The coating works well, it is however very sustainable for scratches. Because the layer is very thin, even the slightest scratch goes all the way through to the metal part
Yes they are horrible!!! They peel. Unable to use after about 3 months!! Don't waste your money!!

QUESTION: DO THESE NEED TO BE SEASONED?
These are non-stick pans.
I season mine with olive oil after each cleaning but you don't have to
Yes, these absolutely need to be seasoned. I did notice, even with diligent care, that they stain horribly. I probably won't buy this type in the future, but you have to make your choice wisely. Season regularly. (After 10 uses) Good luck!

QUESTION: ONE OF THE CAUTIONS SAID "AEROSOL SPRAY IS NOT RECOMMENDED." DOES THAT MEAN THAT I WILL NO LONGER NEED TO USE PAM WHEN I AM COOKING?
whatever you do you do not want to use non stick spray. when you first get the pans take a small amount of olive oil on a paper towel and go over each pan. let the olive oil dry. after cooking immediately wash and hand dry your pan. from time to time you will need to reapply apply the olive oil. are use a microfiber wash cloth to wash mine with and I have never had a problem with scratching. However I do not stack my pans together I have them hanging up.
I didn't use cooking spray anyway, but nothing sticks to the pans. So no, you won't need Pam. Food wipes off clean.

QUESTION: IS THIS PRODUCT LEAD FREE? I DON'T SEE THAT MENTIONED ANYWHERE EXCEPT IN THE HEALTH ENVIRONMENT PICTURE?
Yes
Don't know

Yes

QUESTION: ARE THESE OVEN SAFE? I COULDN'T FIND THE INFO ON THE BOX WHEN I LOOKED AT IT IN THE STORE.
Yes they are up to 375F I'm pretty sure it was written on the box or in the owners manual
Yes, they are oven safe. The use and care instructions state it. Mine have plastic handles and they are oven safe to 350 degrees. You can call 1-800-395-8325 for helpline.
I don't believe they are because it is stipulated to cook only on a medium heat..but if I were you I would check further
They are dishwasher safe but I would not place them in an oven. The handles appear to be metal but, even when using them on the stove, it is recommended that you use low to medium heat settings. Extreme heat is not advised.
#Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: WHERE ARE THESE MADE? CHINA? FRANCE?
China.
I'm not sure where they were made... And honestly I don't think it matters. I'm happy with them. Had them for a while and so far no problems at all.
Manufacturer is indeed French, however upon inspection of packaging there is no indication where these are made. Draw your own conclusions or look at company website.

QUESTION: I HAVE A SMOOTH TOP STOVE. WAS WANTING TO MAKE SURE BOTTOM OF PANS WOULD NOT SCRATCH GLASS TOP??
I also have a ceramic top range. We use our pans every day and have had no issues at all. You'll love them!
We also have glass top stove. That was one of our biggest concerns. In the end we decided a scratched stove would be well worth the awesomeness of this set. However I'm pleased to announce that so far (and we use them frequently) no scratches to the stove.
Not sure, I have a gas stove top and a raised grate. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I will tell you though, the paint on bottom of my pots/pans are coming off quite easily, but interior of pots/pans are just fine.
#T-fal_C921SE_Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: IS THIS SETS' HANDLES ATTACHED BY SCREW OR RIVETED?
Screw, comes lose after every use. Don't buy
it is a screw, but a very odd shape. The average person would not have a tool to tighten a handle.
They are not meant to be taken off.
Screws
These are horrible... Cheaply made and scratch... Don't waste your money.
Riveted

QUESTION: DOES ANYONE KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 14 AND 16 PIECE SETS?
Looks like the 14 piece set comes with the 9 basic pieces, a mini fry pan, and 4 utensils. The 16 piece set has the same 9 basic pieces, but doesn't have the mini fry pan, but instead has a square griddle and 6 utensils.
As far as I know, the 16 piece set doesn't have the little egg pan but it has a square griddle pan and 2 extra utensils (a ladle and a spaghetti server). If you go to the description page, just click on the little box that reads "14 Piece" or "16 Piece" and see the picture to the left. It shows all the pieces in each set. Hope this helps.

QUESTION: WILL THE OUTSIDE BOTTOM OF THE PANS SCRATCH A GLASS STOVETOP?
No It's the best cookware I have ever has It's amazing Clean up is a breeze Follow instructions To condition in with oil in first use You be fine
I have been using these pans for several months on a glass stovetop. No, the bottom of the pans will not scratch the surface
#T-fal_C921SE_Review

QUESTION: IS THE VERY BOTTOM OF THIS COOKWARE FLAT? I NEED SOMETHING THAT HAS FLAT BOTTOMS SUITABLE FOR MY ELECTRIC RANGE THAT HAS A CERAMIC GLASS COOKTOP.
Yes. It has small grooves on the bottom but it sits evenly and securely on my glass cooktop.
Yes. I have a ceramic cooktop as well, and they work great.
I use mine on my white ge glass cooktop, it sits flat, heats evenly and I follow the instructions and oil with coconut oil and heat on low for a few minutes not every time I use them, but some times to keep the non-stick working well.
it is flat
No it's not flat save your money worst cookware ever.
#T-fal_C921SE_Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: ARE THEY INDUCTION COMPATIBLE?
They are ALUMINUM so the answer is 100% NO. The Amazon description also says "compatible with all surfaces EXCEPT INDUCTION"
Not sure. I just placed a magnet against the bottom of one of the saucepans but the magnet will not stick. Hope that helps to answer your question.
#T-fal_C921SE

QUESTION: DO THESE CONTAIN ALUMINUM? I'M TRYING TO FIND A NEW COOKWARE SET THAT DOESN'T ADD TOXIC HEAVY METALS.
It has no lead, no cadmium and no PFDA - not sure what that stands for. As for Aluminum, I am not sure. :(
No it doesn't have ..
The description says "Heavy gauge aluminum construction". So it is aluminum cookware but COATED with non-toxic ceramic coating. So, I guess it is probably one of the safest "non-stick" pans around. NOW, how long will the non-stick quality of it last OR how long does it take for the coating to peel off remains a question.
#Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: I CAN'T TELL FROM THE PICTURE OF THE DUTCH OVEN HANDLES HAVE HOLES TO HANG IT ON A POT RACK? WILL I BE ABLE TO HANG THIS PIECE UP BY A HOOK?
No. There are no holes in the handles of the Dutch oven.
No there not
No holes to hang pots.
Do not buy these... Only last about 2 months then start to peel
#T-fal_C921SE_Review

QUESTION: ARE THE HANDLES SCREWED ON OR RIVETED?
It has both rivets and screws. It has rivets that secures a metal coupling to the pot, then a torx screw secures the handle to the coupling. The handles are very sturdy.
Screwed on. I've had no problems with them though.
They are screwed on and after normal use will become loose but they are easily able to be tightened back up. you will need a hex screwdriver to do this since it does not use a regular Phillips or flat screw head. I hope this helps you. I have greatly enjoyed this cookware and it is more value then what I paid for
#T-fal_C921SE_Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: CAN YOU USE METAL UTENSILS ON THESE?
Why would you want to?
It is not recommended as the same for all cooking ware with a special cooking surface. Using metal utensils and highly rough scouring pads for cleaning can dramatically reduce the life of your cooking ware.
Metal utensils are not recomended
#T-fal_C921SE

QUESTION: ARE THEY DISHWASHER SAFE?
I bought this set as a gift for my son so here is his review. "It is! It is some of the best cookware I have used. Even without washing in a dishwasher, everything comes of the ceramic like a champ. No signs of any wear and tear after having the egg skillet or 13" fry pan in the dishwasher."
I believe they say they are but it's recommended to clean by hand. They're so easy to clean I just clean them by hand anyways.
Yes. I've run them a few times with no issues.
says they are. I won't know for sure for a few washes.
#Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: ARE THESE LED FREE?
Yes, they are lead free, from what I've read on the box.
Yes they are . I wouldn't buy them either way . I don't like mine anymore , they were good for a couple weeks then they started to stick and they don't stay white very long the handles also loosen up all the time .
#T-fal_C921SE_Review

QUESTION: ARE THE BOTTOMS SMOOTH AND FLAT OR ARE THEY RINGED AND ROUGH?
Ringed but not rough
They have very tiny rings that are so close together that they don't feel rough to me.
They are ringed. I ran my hand over the bottom surfaces and they were smooth.
they are not smooth and weirdly enough they are sort of soft scratch your fingernail across the bottom and see for yourself but they work good for me they have rings around the bottoms on the bottom surface they are easy enough to clean
Ringed and rough.

#T-fal_C921SE

QUESTION: I HAVE HAD MY SET FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH NOW AND SOME OF THEM HAVE SCRATCHED A BIT. IS IT STILL SAFE TO USE THESE WITH SOME SMALL SCRATCHES?
Yes I don't see why not. mine don't have scratches but I don't see why they wouldn't be safe to use the only thing is that the nonstick part of them may not be so good anymore
As with any non stick coating pans you should never use metal utensils to cook with. Nevertheless it is still "Safe" to use but the areas with scratches may not be non stick anymore
#Initiatives_Ceramic_Nonstick

QUESTION: DOES THE FINISH STAND UP TO DISHWASHING
It does but the set is cheaply made; the porcelain finishing is very "scratchable" I wouldn't buy it again
garbage, and when I called customer service I was told deal with it these are the new standards.
#T-fal_C921SE_Review

QUESTION: PLASTIC TOOLS I'VE USED WITH OTHER CERAMIC PANS HAVE MELTED. I PICKED THIS SET BECAUSE IT SAID IT CAME WITH "NYLON" TOOLS. DO THESE MELT/LEAVE MARKS?
yes they do melt, and leave marks if you leave tool inside the Pans while cooking.
I'm using the tools that came with the pans. They are harder than the ones I already had. Yes, these pans get hot and I found i can cook at a lower temperature which will lower electrical costs (or gas). These harder utensils that came with the pans do not melt.

QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE HANDLES OF THESE PANS MADE OF? CAN THESE PANS BE USED IN THE OVEN (FOR EX: SEARING A MEAT, THEN TRANSFERRING TO OVEN TO FINISH COOKING?)
They are made out of plastic, So definitely no oven.
I don't think so, I was very disappointed with mine and do not recommend. I got two sets at Black Friday from two different stores. I didn't use until Christmas they stain easily the handles come loose and I have to tighten them all the time.
