QUESTION: CAN I USE PAM, BUTTER OIL ETC. IN THE FRYING PANS AND POTS?
The maker says don't use spray !!!! Pam being a spray, I would say NO !!!!!
With any non-stick pan, you want to avoid using cooking sprays from an aerosol can. The reason is that the cooking spray contains a chemical called lecithin. Pick up any can of Pam cooking spray and you'll see lecithin listed as a non-stick agent. However, with use over time it will cause your non-stick pan to become a stick pan. It is not the best idea to spray oils unless you are baking. For cooking, just pour in some oil and swirl the pan around to coat the surface. There are other options for spraying like Misto sprayers, but the oil gets super heated when sprayed on that thin, which isn't necessarily the best for your pan. If you read the care directions for basically any non-stick pan, you will see that they all recommend not to use cooking sprays due to the fact that they will affect the non-stick pro perties of you pan over time. A number of pan brands will also state that their pans are dishwasher safe. By dishwasher safe they usually mean that the pan will not distort or the handle material, etc become damaged by the heat of the dishwasher. However, the harsh chemicals of dishwasher detergent over time will affect the non-stick ability of basically any non-stick pan. So avoid use of aerosol sprays and hand wash your pans if you want the non-stick coating to last for years.
I have and I haven't noticed any I'll effects from doing so. They still work wonderfully even after oils and dishwasher use.
Yes you can use all of them. Not necessary but can be used
I have used some Pam but I spray it very lightly and yes to butter and oil you can use these as any recipe calls for. I do love this cookware and am so glad I bought them. I don't put them in the dishwasher though, very easy clean up.
I have used it and so far so good.

QUESTION: CAN IT BE USED ON A CERAMIC TOP STOVE
According to the booklet that comes with it: "T-fal cookware is compatible with gas, spiral or solid electric, ceramic(radiant) and halogen rangetops". By the way, I absolutely love the way these pans cook.
Im not familiar with ceramic stove tops but it works fine on electric and gas. I don't see it being an issue.
yes I have a ceramic stove top and it works great

QUESTION: WHAT MAKES THIS BETTER THAN THE T-FAL HARD ANODIZED PROFESSIONAL COOKWARE SET (SAME NUMBER OF PIECES) AT $30 LESS?
I have been wondering the same thing. The manufacturer's website is not too helpful, but I did find that "Professional" has a Stainless steel disc base. Full size stainless steel disc over heavy gauge aluminum base provides superior heat distribution and maximum anti-warping protection. Expert non-stick interior. Advanced metal-safe coating guarantees durable non-stick performance for extra heavy use and fast, easy clean up." The Ultimate has "TechnoResist base[, which] provides outstanding warp resistance and even heat distribution for optimal cooking results. Prometal Pro interior is exceptionally durable and scratch resistant. Safe for use with metal utensils. " They both are heat resistant up to 350. They both have silicone handles. From what I can tell, the Professio nal is better. Professional has a non-stick exterior as well. Ultimate has "hard enamel exterior."I remember reading another review site where someone said Professional was heavier. To some people that might be a negative, but I like that better. Pretty sure I'm going for the Professional.
I am not familiar with that set, but i like the even heat distribution on these. Sorry I couldnt be more help

QUESTION: DO THE POTS HAVE THE SAME GRAY GRID ON THE NON-STICK SURFACE JUST LIKE THE SKILLETS?
Yes, the pots are the same as the skillet
No, the pots have a black, non-stick bottom. I really am pleased with them, and I did follow the instructions and season the pots and skillets.
Only the two skillets have the grid and the red circle in the middle. The pots don't.
No. They do not. Only the skillets have the grid.

QUESTION: I THINK I READ SOME REVIEWS NOT TO USE HIGH HEAT SETTING FOR THESE PANS. WHAT SETTING DO MOST OF YOU USE WHEN YOU FIRST TURN ON THE STOVE?
Terrie, I can only answer for gas cooking. I would never try to cook on an electric stove. When you look at a gas flame, there is a blue inner flame and a yellow outer flame. The hottest part of the flame is at the tip of the blue flame, and that should touch the bottom of the pan. If you turn the gas any higher, you won't heat the pan any faster, but the excess gas will scorch the side of the pan. My stove has three sizes of gas burners, with differing numbers of little gas flames coming through holes. If you want to heat the pan faster, use a bigger burner, one with more little gas flames. Also, keep an eye on the red dots and don't overheat your pans.
when boiling water, use setting below high, do not run cold water on hot pots either. Just cook as you would do with any other. Season before useing.
Medium heat is best.
I always use medium heat. It doesn't take that much longer to cook and your pans will last a lot longer. I love this set.
I've used a high setting with no problem
I use an "8" on our electric stove at a guess I would say this about at 75% of the heat range. I have used it at maximum heat with no ill effects

QUESTION: IS THIS SET COMPATABLE FOR CONVECTION OVEN?
They are oven safe to 350 degrees but I don't put my everyday cooking pots in the oven, I have different pots/pans for that. Personally, I would not take the chance and use them in a convection oven.
In the ad it says: "Riveted silicone handles, oven safe to 350-degree f, glass lids, limited lifetime warranty, safe for all cooking methods except induction."
#T-fal_E918SC

QUESTION: SO DOES THE LID TO THE DUTCH OVEN FIT THE BIGGER SKILLET, OR NO? AND HOW BIG IS THE BIGGER SKILLET?
No it will not fit. Inside diameter of the skillet is 10.25 and the lid on the dutch oven is 9.25. I have owned this set for several months and really like it. Make sure you read the directions on how to season them and not to take the temp to high. I have a glass top stove and they work great on it.
No - the lid is strictly for Dutch Oven. The larger skillet is 12" and does not have a lid. I ultimately wound up uying the "All Clad Stainless Steel 10-Inch Fry Pan" and the domed lid for it separately.
The large skillet is 12". The lid for the dutch oven is too small. I happened to have a lid from another set that fits the large skillet perfectly. It's from a beautiful corning skillet. So I was lucky. Instead of buying that 10 inch skillet with lid you could look around in thrift store, or Ross, Marshalls for another pan with a lid that would fit this skillet. I would bring the skillet with you. Otherwise, this set is so worth the money.
It was a gift for someone else so I don't really know. Sorry. I have T-Fal and I love it!! Just NOT this set.
i purchased this set(but unfortunately for someone else). only know they enjoy tfal very much

QUESTION: WHICH MODEL #T-FAL E918SC74 OR E918SC64 IS OVEN SAFE TO400- 450 DEGREES?
I'm am not sure, but I don't believe either are. I know they are safe to 350 and I have put that to the test a few times already.
I feel really bad but I can't help. It has been so long since I researched pots and pans have eventually bought them so I can't say for sure. I don't have my records anymore. There were some out there though.

QUESTION: IS IT OKAY WITH GLASS TOP BURNERS?
The T-Fal cookware I bought for my wife has held up well considering the way my better half throws pots and pans around like frizbees. I noticed some people who have purchased the same ware set have complained about the glass tops shattering and the Teflon coating coming off. We on the other hand have not had any of these issues, we are very pleased. Of course and no disrespect to other consumers, I'm sure the glass covers are at risk of shattering if dropped on, lets say, a ceramic or porcelain tile kitchen floor. And of course we only use rubber or silicone utensils on the inside of the Teflon coated pans, sometimes wood spatulas. Let me say now why my wife is not around. I'm impressed that she has not destroyed these yet. She is the ultimate tester for these pots and pans. We have had them going on three years and they are like new condition. Having said that my only suggestion is to buy them. They are GREAT!!!
I have a smooth top stove and it works great on it!
Yes. We have been using these for the past 2months without any issues with our glass top surface burners.
I am so sorry, but I don't have glass top burners so I don't know. Good luck!

QUESTION: WHAT COUNTRY ARE THE MADE IN?
If you are asking because you want to bye American then don't, they are made in China. If it is because you are concerned about the quality don't be, they are very well make. I love these pans and would recommend them.
According to their website, it's made in France: http://www.t-falusa.com/Tefal+magazine/Hot+topics/Environmental+Policy/Health+and+the+Environment.htm

QUESTION: CAN THESE PANS BE USED WITH METAL UTENSILS OR WIRE WHISKS?
T-fal says they can. But I personally would not use metal utensils for those pans. There are great hard plastic utensils on the market and this set of pots come with 2 of them.
The instructions indicate that only plastic utensils be used. I do have a spring wire whisk that I have very gently used on a couple of occasions. The key word is "gently". I did not notice any scratching on the pans sides or bottom. However, I would not encourage regular use of metal spoons or whisks. I also have used rubber spatulas for stirring and that works well. Hope this helps answer your question. Also, make sure you do not use High heat. I noticed one complaint was that the pan warped on the first use. I suspect that high heat was the cause. So far, I am thoroughly pleased with these pans and take a few extra precautions using them but it is worth it!
I wouldn't. I use plastic or coated whisks and wooden utensils.
no . you must use the ones that came with the set or something that will not scratch the surface of the pan, even the wooden ones will work. I can tell you though that the cookware is really good , nothing sticks to it.

QUESTION: WHERE IS THIS SET MADE?
I do not know. There isn't anything listed in the manual. It did not come in original packaging. There were no labels that said where it was made.
Don't know, but we do like them. This set was sent to my brother as a present. He already had two of their large covered pans and liked them. The price range before Christmas just couldn't be passed up. Good value either way I would say.

QUESTION: IS IT NON-TOXIC?
T-Fal has been around for years. I have used it for 20 plus years. I did read that T-fal has changed to PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic Acid) which is another chemical that is used in the process of making PTFE. (It is NOT the same as PTFE) Also the issues was when the older Non stick products were made the quality of the product wa sub standard (coating layers) T-Fal Professional Total Non-stick has 5 layers of non-stick coating on it. So may want so a little research but I feel comfortable with the product. Hope this helps !!
It's my understanding the toxic material in the Teflon has been withdrawn and these are not toxic, however they instruct you to not heat these higher that medium high. This is high enough however because they are quit light and heat up pretty fast. They have a red dot in the center of the pans to let you know when they are at the optium heat. It is a little different way for us to cook, since in our older stainless pots with a heavy bottom, you just let 'er rip, but these do a good job. I would purchase them again.
Yes, they are non toxic
Yes-cooks and cleans like a dream

QUESTION: WHERE CAN I GET A COMPATIBLE LID THAT WOULD FIT THE LARGE FRYING PAN?
Try kitchen store...or even big box store...there are universal lids available...probably even on amazon...
Either check with Amazon r go to T-fal
I think ur best bet would be to order a pan with the lid the same size as ur frying pan. I've tried looking and I think it would be cheaper just buying one from amazom.

QUESTION: ON 12PC SET #E918SC64...WHAT ARE SIZES OF SAUCE PANS AND SAUTE PANS?
I am not much of a cooker so don't know which those are but the skillets are 10 and a half inches and 8 inches. The pans measure 8in, 10in, 6in and a 7 and a half. I will say they clean up great and are wonderful for cooking. The spoon and the spactula that came with them are better used as a toy for my kid then for cooking. Hope that helps!

There is an 8" and 10" skillet. The 8" is like an omelet pan (or single grilled cheese pan) and the 10" is my go to for everything pan. My only problem is that it's not real deep. The saucepans are 1, 2 & 3 quart and the stockpot is probably 6 quarts. I've really enjoyed this set and the cleanup is awesome.

QUESTION: NOTICED THAT THIS SET ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE USED ON HIGH HEAT. HAVE ANY OF YOU TRIED IT? DOES WATER BOIL ON MEDIUM HEAT? THANKS IN ADVANCE.
I have accidentally several times put in on high heat. So when I do turn it down, water will still boil on med. to low heat. P.S. I have a gas stove if that makes a difference.
I have a gas stove and use high heat with these pans, without issue.

QUESTION: DISHWASHER SAFE?
Absolutely. You'll get best results by staying away from dishwasher detergents that have citrus (lemon/lime).
don't know for sure. always wait until they cool, then wash in the sink
I don't use a dishwasher
I don't own a dishwasher but googled T-Fal's website to verify. The answer was yes that all of their cookware is dishwasher safe!
No. Do not wash these in the dishwasher, hand wash only ;)
Not
The ad on Amazon says the pans are dshwasher safe. After receiving the product I read the outside of the pans will discolor in the dishwasher. However, the pans wash up effortlessly. I noticed the outside bottom of the pans scratch very easily on the grates of my brand new gas stove.

QUESTION: DISH WASHER
They do clean well in the dish washer but they also are super easy to clean with water and soap. Nothing sticks to these pans it's so nice
Yes..Dish washer or simple soap and water wipeout...this cookware is really easy to clean!!!
The booklet says you can, I never put my cookware in the dishwasher, and really don't see the need since it's totally non stick anyway.

QUESTION: HI, WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS AND THE D913SC64 SIGNATURE SET? IS IT JUST THE DISHWASHER-SAFE ASPECT OF THIS ONE?
I do not know the difference but I would never put any pans in the dishwasher. I always wash them by hand.
There's a thermal circle in the center of each pan that changes color when the pan is hot, you can use metal utensils with these, and the handles rarely need a hot pad - probably the best feature!
I am not familiar with this set, but based on the information listed, that appears to be the only difference.
I believe the difference was the coating on the set I purchased. It was most resistant to metal utensils. I'd advise to read the description carefully.
Like everyone else, not positive about difference. But I guess this set is heavier in weight because of the anti-warp material. I've owned older sets of the Signature line and they were not as heavy. If you you use your cookware regularly, I would recommend this set. It's very durable and cleans easily.

QUESTION: DO THEY WORK ON A GAS STOVE?
I have a gas stove and they seem to work perfectly well so far for me. Very lightweight so they heat quickly. So far I love these pans and I have them cleaned in the dishwasher each time as well.
They work excellent on gas stoves, that is what I have and have been using since I purchased them.
Yes I believe they would work just fine on a gas stove.

QUESTION: IS THE NON STICK COATING FREE OF PFOA AND PTFE?
I believe A. Rodriguez answered incorrectly. I hope I'm wrong, but these DO seem to contain PTFE. If you click the link to the Manual under Product Details it takes you to this link: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61k2G1gE-NS.pdf and you will clearly see in the part that says "Caution" that it contains PTFE. Additionally, I went to the T-Fal website to confirm, and sadly confirmed it there as well. It's a shame. I'm really, really considering buying a set of these pans because a friend of mine has them and I've cooked at their house before and these pans are amazing. However, I'm weighing if they're worth the risk because they contain PTFE. I thought when I used them that they might be ceramic or something different than traditional non-stick coating b ecause of how they looked (they don't look like traditional non-stick when observed up close) but looks can be deceiving. :/
Yes it is

QUESTION: INDUCTION
These are not designed for use on an induction cooktop, please refer to product description for details.
What is your question?
T-fal E918SC64 Ultimate Hard Anodized Nonstick Expert Interior Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Anti-Warp Base Dishwasher Safe 12-Piece Cookware Set is the best cookware I have ever owned. Wife cooks. She loves it. I clean. What a breeze!
#T-fal_E918SC

QUESTION: WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE BOX FOR THE COOKWARE SET? DOES IT REQUIRE ASSEMBLY?? WILL IT FIT IN IN MY LUGGAGE TO TAKE ON FLIGHT??
There was no assembly but the pieces are packed so that the box is much bigger than the pieces with all the pans and lids. I am pretty sure unless you have a large empty suitcase that it wouldn't fit unless you were able to open it all up and pack some pieces in separate suit cases but because while pieces fit inside of each other the handles would keep them from being the size on one piece. Plus they are rather heavy.
It is a large box - too large for carry on luggage.
No I don't think so, if you going to use a regular suit case , but I'm no sure , I can tell you that I took a cookeware set out of the country but I took it out of the box and wrap it with some cloth , to make my luggage lighter , and everything arrived good to destination. Sorty fo tthe delay in my answer I hope is not to late. Good look !!!

QUESTION: ARE THEY SAFE FOR GLASS TOP STOVES?
Yes, I use mine all the time.
Yes they are. Due to its ability to terminally function as a cold and hot apparatus within the pots handle. And with this function, glass which is fabricated upon the resultant of the pot being ultimate can be attested for being safe for glass stove top.
Yes, that is what I have and they work fine.
#T-fal_E918SC_Review

QUESTION: IS THIS A LIGHTWEIGHT PRODUCT?
It isn't cast iron heavy by any means but it does have enough weight so you know you have quality pans. I really like them. Easy to clean, even heat and good grips.
The pans are not as light weight as some cheep store brands. I would say they are just a little over midway point on the weight. I have arthritics and they are not to heavy to manage. They clean up really, really, well too. Just a little information though, don't use the heat as high as you have in the past, things will burn. Use a low to medium heat and go from there. Very even cooking as well.
Yes
T-fal is one of the better products out on the market. That red insignia in the middle tells me that its a step up from their lesser products. I use my T-fal cookware more often than my more durable, expensive products. & it has held up to my rigorous demands. & you can't beat the price. :)

QUESTION: ARE THEY DISHWASHER SAFE?
I put these pots and pans in the dishwasher and the Teflon doesn't get ruined.
I dont believe so..I hand wash all nonstick pans
Yes per item details
Yes but they are so easy to wash I never put them in the dishwasher.
Yes, but since the food doesn't stick in them, they are super quick to handwash. These pans are superb!

QUESTION: I LOVE T-FAL AND I HAVE USED THEM FOR YEARS. MY DAUGHTER USES KITCHENAID COOKWARE. I THINK T-FAL IS BETTER WHAT DO YOU THINK?
I have never used Kitchenaid cookware so I really cant compare. I just know that this set is working good for me, nothing has stuck to these pots and pans since I received them except for eggs which tend to get somewhat stuck without use of oil. Pancakes cook easily in these pans with no need for grease as well as dry foods such as chicken breast, breads, etc. This set is awesome as I can even use metal on these without worrying about scratching the non stick.
They are equivilent, I beleive
t-fal is great for cooking. i don't know what took me so long to buy it! fantastic cookware
That would be hard for me to say as I have never used Kitchenaid cookware. But we are very impressed with the T-fal that we just got.

QUESTION: I WANT A TOP OF THE LINE NON-STIC (NON-PEEL OR FLAKE), EVEN HEATING, HEAVY, NON-NOXIOUS SET THAT WILL LAST OVER A YEAR OR TWO. IS THIS THE SET?
Yes
Yes, I believe this to be that pan if u dont use metal utensil or over heat, I bougt this set for the same reason's . I like the way they cook & clean so well I bought 2 more larger T-fal pans. Great set!
Yes

QUESTION: WILL THIS COOKWARE WORK ON AN INDUCTION COOKING SURFACE, WE JUST BOUGHT AN AROMA INDUCTION COOKTOP AND ARE LOOKING FOR COOKWARE TO USE WITH IT.
It says in the description that these are safe for all cooking methods except induction.
These are aluminum pans. They will not work on an induction range by themselves. If a refrigerator magnet will stick to the bottom of the pan, the pan will likely work on an induction range. If it doesn't stick, it likely won't work. There are metal plates that are designed to go between the range and pans that are not induction pans such as aluminum pans. The induction range will heat up the metal plate and the metal plate will then heat up the pan. Whereas if you have a pan that a magnet can stick to the induction range can heat the pan itself and you'll have greater control over the heat of the pan.

QUESTION: DOES THIS COME WITH LIDS FOR THE FRY PANS?
Hi, the fry pans do not come with lids, and the stock pot as well as the sauce pots will not fit the fry pans either. Hope this helps.
No
The set comes just as depicted in the picture. No frying pan lids.
One of the saucepan lids fits the small frying pan, but there isn't one for the large frying pan.
#T-fal_E918SC

QUESTION: HOW DOES IT DO WHEN BOILING WATER? CAN IT STAND THE HEAT?
these pans are the best pans I used in my life, and I am now 75 years old. You do not ever cook on high tho, as it tells you that, but even when turned down a bit on the heat, the come to a boil and cook everything well. I would not hesitate to purchase again. In fact, I want 1 larger pot to add to this set.
I have not had any issues with any of the pieces. I have used the pot to heat oil and deep fry Potatoes, Okra, and Hush-puppies with no issue. Cooking pasta is a cinch and the pans are as good today as when I got them.
Seriously perfect...holds up well
I haven't had any issues love my set
Well, since water boils at 212 degrees F, the pot would stay at 212 until the water evaporates. The water would regulate the heat, so you couldn't overheat it.

QUESTION: DOES THIS COOKWARE SCRATCH A SMOOTH TOP ELECTRIC STOVE?

I've used this cookware for 3 months on my smooth electric stove top and have had no problems. Love these pans!

QUESTION: WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU COOK FOOD ON HIGH HEAT? WILL THE NON STICK COATING RUB OFF?
I had it several months now, it still looks like new. Its not like the other pans where the coating rubs off. It's all metal, no coating. It's an Outstanding set.
Not happened so far
Everything melts at a high enough temperature. It depends on how high you're talking about. I wouldn't suggest anything over normal cooking temperatures and you'll be fine. Never been any issues.
http://housewares.about.com/od/glossary/g/anodized.htm
Nope, the coating was made for super high heat. I've had mine for a good 6 months now and love this set.
No, and after a year, the bottom of the pans look like they have never been heated, let alone with "fire"...Still brand new...One of the best purchases I have ever made.
